League Two 2018/19 Promotion Predictions

Lincoln came close to securing a place in League One last season and the Imps should put up a decent showing once again. The Cowleys are highly rated and it’s testament to the club that they have chosen to stay at Sincil Bank. They have added League Two powerhouse John Akinde and popular defender Scott Wharton returns for another stint with the club. Last season’s play-off failure could arguably be attributed to an energy-sapping cup run and if they put all of their eggs in the League Two basket, promotion is a real possibility. They have three automatic places to aim at and the Cowley’s should be able to guide their side to the third tier. A little more strength in depth is perhaps required in midfield but at 2/1 with Ladbrokes, they look a decent bet for our League Two betting tips for promotion this season. Top Half Finish Prediction

There are many teams vying for a position in the top half but Colchester may have quietly slipped under the radar. John McGreal’s side look well-equipped for a play-off push and will be looking to take advantage of their excellent home form. They were a little inconsistent last season and that’s an area they must work on but they have signed well and have a number of promising youngsters emerging. Harry Pell is a decent addition to the side and should bring some class whilst Aaron Collins, Frank Nouble and Luke Norris all add some much needed competition in forward positions. If Sammie Szmodics can find his form once again, they could be top six contenders and a price of 10/11 for them to finish in the top half looks good value. Bottom Half Finish Prediction

There is all-sorts going on at Oldham. Boundary Park has had it’s fair share of drama over the past couple of years and that could hinder their on-the-field performance. In May, Simon Corney was removed from his position with owner Abdallah Lemsagem rumoured to be interfering with first-team affairs. Frankie Bunn has been put in charge of the team and he is inexperienced at this level. Anthony Gerrard has been suspended and forced to play with the youth squad whilst Jack Byrne has also been left out of the pre-season squad. Jose Baxter could come good at this level following his return to football but other additions such as Andy Taylor and Giles Coke look past their best. This is a hugely competitive division and if Oldham don’t start well, they could find themselves struggling to keep up with the chasing pack. They are 10/11 to finish in the bottom half with William Hill and that looks decent value.

League Two Relegation Betting Tips 2018/19

It’s never nice predicting a team to drop out of the football league but Yeovil do look like they’ve been living on borrowed time recently. Darren Way hasn’t got much a budget to play with and he is once again reliant upon freebies and loans from clubs higher up the football pyramid. There are currently just 19 players in the squad and they could struggle if injuries start to bite. Carl Dickinson is a solid addition but the loss of Otis Khan is far from ideal. The Glovers relied upon some excellent winter form to keep them away from danger last season and they will need to be much more consistent this time around. They had a number of players dismissed last season and their lack of discipline is bit of a concern. Morecambe are specialists at avoiding relegation, Forest Green and Crawley have strengthened sensibly whilst Michael Jolley has managed to get the most out of a limited Grimsby squad. That doesn’t bode well for Yeovil. They are priced at 10/3 with Bet365 to slip into the National League and you can use £100 in free bet credits on this market.

League Two Top Goalscorer Tip

As a bit of an outside shot, Junior Morais could be interesting in this market. The former St.Albans striker joins from Peterborough and looked a natural finisher at League One level last season. He scored six goals in 25 matches last season for Posh despite starting the majority of matches on the bench. If he gets a run of games, he could relish linking up with John Joe O’Toole and could be lethal at League Two level. He is 33/1 with Betway to finish as the League Two top goalscorer and they are offering a free £30 bet to use on this market.
