We’re predicting a comfortable Man City win at Wembley, but Brighton can get on the scoresheet.

City were not at their best in the last round but rested players on Wednesday night.

Brighton’s poor Premier League form might not be a factor in this one off Wembley match.

Manchester City vs Brighton Preview and Betting Odds

Pep Guardiola rested the likes of David Silva, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling for the easy 2-0 win over Cardiff in mid-week, but Sergio Aguero missed the match with an injury and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit to play at Wembley. They do have Gabriel Jesus in reserve but he is not yet at the standard of Aguero.

Brighton have been in a really poor run of form in the Premier League and this continued when they were beaten 3-0 at Chelsea in midweek. They’re five points clear of the relegation zone but Chris Hughton will still not think they’re safe.

Brighton needed penalties to beat Millwall in the last round and have so far beaten Bournemouth, West Brom (after extra-time in a replay), and Derby before the quarter final win.

Man City came back from 2-0 down to beat Swansea 2-0 in the last round but the match was not without controversy. Prior to that they beat Newport, Burnley and Rotherham.

It is hard to predict anything but a Manchester City win here, however they have conceded in the last two rounds, so City to win and both teams to score is the main betting tip for this weekend.

Match Betting Odds:

Man City to win – 1/7

Draw – 7/1

Brighton to win – 14/1

Manchester City vs Brighton Betting Tips

With Sergio Aguero a doubt for the match, Gabriel Jesus might be in the starting line-up once again, but he’s not as prolific as the Argentine so we’re looking elsewhere for an anytime goalscorer tip and backing Raheem Sterling to keep up his fantastic season with another Wembley goal.

The winger will be fresh after a rest against Cardiff in midweek and looking to build on the 19 goals he already has this season. He’s scored eight in his last seven matches for club and country.

Both Silva’s were also rested against Cardiff but Kevin De Bruyne started the match and opened the scoring, he’s 12/5 with Betfair to score anytime. David Silva will probably go back into the Man City starting line-up and is 5/2 with the same firm.

From a Brighton point of view, Glenn Murray would be the obvious choice at 9/2 with bet365, or for an outside bet, consider defender Shane Duffy to score anytime at a whopping 22/1 with Unibet.

Manchester City vs Brighton Correct Score Prediction

The last of our Man City vs Brighton betting tips is a correct score and we’re backing up the earlier 3-1 score bet with Manchester City to win and both teams to score.

This would have been a winner in their last two FA Cup matches, both against lower league opposition, and if there is an early goal in this game things could open up. City will want to get the job done and try to rest a few players before their Champions League tie with Tottenham on Tuesday night.

Brighton have seen both teams score in four of their five FA Cup ties this season and if Man City do score first, they’ll have to come out and attack at some point to try and get back into the game.
