Wigan vs Norwich predictions

Wigan vs Norwich betting tips, predictions and match preview for the Championship fixture on 14th April. Norwich dropped points in midweek, but they are still on course to take up their position in the Premier League next season. Wigan are desperately trying to avoid relegation, and their home form will be key, if they are to remain in the Championship.

Norwich thought they’d taken three points against Reading, but a late Royals equaliser denied them the victory. They created plenty of chances in that game, and they will be expected to continue where they left off. Wigan are tough nut to crack at home however, and they should play their part in this fascinating Championship tie. It ended 2-2 when the two sides last met at the DW, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see another high-scoring event here.

Wigan vs Norwich Preview and Betting Odds

Wigan have only lost four times at home this season, but it’s their poor away form which has led to them becoming embroiled in a relegation battle. The Latics haven’t been beaten here since January 1st, and only Leeds, Sheffield United, Birmingham and Derby have left this ground with all three points. Norwich will be confident about adding their name to that list on Sunday.

The Canaries also need the points as they aim to secure top spot in the Championship, and they will be fired up for this one. They are odds-on away from home, but visiting this ground is never straightforward. Leeds only just squeezed past Paul Cook’s men, heading back across the Pennines with a 2-1 victory.

Daniel Farke’s men came up against another home specialist, who were scrapping away a couple of weeks ago, and they also emerged 2-1 winners. Rotherham fought hard that day, but Norwich found a different way to win, and they may have to use similar grit here.

Each of the Canaries’ last two away wins have been by a single goal, and they simply need to get the points on the board here.

Only Preston and Sheffield United have beaten the East Anglian side on their travels this season, and they will be expected to win this, but it’s hard to be tempted at a price of 4/5.

Our betting tip for this Championship game is Norwich to Win by a 1 Goal Margin and the best odds are currently 13/5 with Boylesports

Wigan vs Norwich Betting Tips

Emi Buendia was a source of many goals throughout March, and he landed our anytime goalscorer on a number of occasions, but he won’t play any part in this game due to his three-match suspension. Instead, we’ve got to look elsewhere. The Canaries scored both goals from centre-backs in midweek, but Teemu Pukki had numerous chances throughout the contest.

The Finn has netted in four of his last six away matches, and he was also back amongst the goals during their 4-0 thumping of QPR. The 28-year old has 27 across all competitions, and he will be looking to make it 30 for the campaign during these final couple of weeks.

Teemu Pukki is just about odds-against with some bookmakers, and that’s worth snapping up.

The third of our Wigan vs Norwich betting tips is Teemu Pukki to Score Anytime, and he is 6/5 with Paddy Power to find the net in this one.

Wigan vs Norwich Match Prediction – Over 2.5 Goals @ 8/11 with Bet365

The price on this selection has shortened over the last couple of days, but it’s still worth taking Over 2.5 Goals in this one. Norwich have been involved in a number of high-scoring games this season, and they’ve been a tad sloppy at the back recently. Five of the last six games on the road featured three or more goals, with only a hard-fought single goal success proving to be the exception.

Wigan are always a danger on their own patch, and they netted against Leeds here earlier in the campaign. Both of their two home matches against the top three sides landed Over 2.5 Goals. They are capable at the back, but they looked error-prone against Hull on Wednesday night, and that doesn’t bode well for this clash with a confident Norwich side.

Over 2.5 Goals is short, but it looks like a decent bet in this early afternoon kick-off.
