Zinedine Zidane’s Galacticos follow up their shock Champions League defeat to Wolfsburg with a La Liga clash against mid table Eibar. Madrid have made a habit of beating the lower clubs whilst being extremely lax in defence, keeping just one clean sheet in the League in their last five, conceding in wins against Levante, Las Palmas, Celta and Barcelona. Madrid average almost four goals a game in La Liga and I highly doubt they'll fail to get on the scoresheet in this one. Eibar sit ninth and have played out three consecutive BTTS winners, whilst away from home five of their last six have seen goals for both sides. Eibar have also managed to notch against both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona this season and I'm confident that Real Madrid will also suffer the same fate. However, with a battle for second with Atletico still ongoing, I fancy Real to nick a comfortable win with both teams finding the net.
Real Madrid to win and BTTS odds – 11/8 at Betfair.
Hoping to push up the table and finish strongly are soon-to-be deposed Champions Chelsea who travel to 15th placed Swansea. Francesco Guidolin’s Swans have improved their form in recent weeks, picking up three wins from their last five, including a surprise 2-1 victory away to title-chasing Arsenal. Swansea now have 37 points and look to be all but safe from the threat of relegation. Guus Hiddink is hoping for a strong finish to a what has been a highly forgettable campaign for the Blues. Chelsea have played out six BTTS winners in their last seven league fixtures, with the only lapse being last week’s simple 4-0 win over an Aston Villa side who wouldn't pose a goal threat even against Chelsea’s U-14’s. With both teams free from the usual end of season pressure, but also taking into account Chelsea’s push for a European Spot, I'm expecting to see an open game with both teams scoring in a Chelsea victory.
Chelsea to win and BTTS odds – 18/5 at Betfair.
Plymouth enter the final stretch looking for a good run of form that could propel them to automatic promotion, but their early season form has taken a knock in recent weeks. However, Argyle are just two points behind Oxford in second and a victory against mid-table Wimbledon would be a huge boost to the Westcountry side’s promotion prospects. Both Plymouth and Wimbledon have form in terms of both teams scoring, with Argyle’s last two finishing as BTTS winners, and four of Wimbledon’s last five ending with both sides finding the net. Also, Wimbledon have suffered defeats in three of their last four on the road, and with little left to play for other than pride, I see Plymouth nabbing the victory. Wimbledon’s goalscoring form suggests they'll put up a fight, but their away form suggests they'll suffer yet another BTTS defeat on the road.
Plymouth to win and BTTS odds – 9/2 with Betfair.
