Tommy Fleetwood – 14/1 with William Hill

My first selection is TOMMY FLEETWOOD. Fleetwood is comfortably the best bet from the market principles for me. He has the best course form in the line up and he has been bubbling over nicely suggesting a big week is incoming. He played solid at Augusta finishing inside the top 20 before another similar display the following week in the RSM Classic. The ball striking has been exceptional and he returns to a course where he has always putted well on and has shown the ability to go low on more than one occasion. He is overdue a win and his wins tend to come in big events on the European Tour like this one.

Matthew Fitzpatrick – 16/1 with William Hill

My next selection is MATTHEW FITZPATRICK. Fitzpatrick had been in solid form over in the States prior to a missed cut in the RSM Classic where he appeared to just run out of steam. He has freshened up and had a nice break since then and he now returns to a course he has previously won on and will be eager to get back in the winners circle here. Fitzpatrick always tends to play well when returning to Europe and he putts at his best on very quick greens like we’ll see this week. Bound to go close.

Victor Perez – 40/1 with William Hill

My next selection is VICTOR PEREZ. I thought Perez would be a lot shorter than the prices available and I think he is definitely the best e/w bet in this contest. Perez contended in the signature event on the European Tour, the BMW PGA Championship where he pushed Hatton all the way and shown the golfing world the skill level he has. He has a win to his name on the European Tour in the Alfred Dunhill Championship which comes towards the end of the season so maybe this is his time of year. He’s had a nice break and will have been preparing his game for this week as the course layout suits his game to a tee. I’m sure he will be inspired by the form of fellow Frenchmen Rozner and Lorenzo-Vera last week in Dubai and I’m expecting a bold bid.

Jordan Smith – 80/1 with William Hill

My next selection is JORDAN SMITH. Jordan Smith is hitting the ball as well as he ever has been and as well as any other player in this field. That is until he gets onto the green where the putter has been really letting him down. With it being the final event of the season I’m hoping the pressure will be off and he will free up a little on the greens which will hopefully results in a few extra putts dropping in. He’s hitting the ball that well tee-to-green, if the putter does warm-up, there is no reason to think he won’t be bang there. He has a fine record in Dubai as well which only aides his chances.

Sam Horsfield – 125/1 Sky Bet

My final selection is SAM HORSFIELD. Horsfield is just plain and simply overpriced this week. He was exceptional over the summer winning two of the UK events showing the level of form he is capable of. He has been a little off the boil since but he’s that type of player and he can take encouragement from his -11 total last week and hopefully kick on again this week. Course will suit him well as he should be taken advantage of the par 5s with his driving ability.
