Genesis Invitational Betting Tips – Four Selections for the PGA Tour Event this Week
It’s a stellar field this week for the PGA Tour as we head to one of the most iconic golf courses on the planet in Riviera.
World number 1 Dustin Johnson rightfully heads the market as he bids to follow up his win two weeks ago in Saudi Arabia.
Rory McIlroy (12/1 with bet365)
My first selection is RORY MCILROY 12/1 WIN. McIlroy seems to be building into peak form at the right time as the build up to the years first major ramps up. He has played plenty of golf in the early part of 2021 and they’re have certainly been some positive signs. In his last nine starts he has finished in the top 25 on every occasion and I think this weeks venue is a great opportunity for him to get back in the winners circle. He has a great record here at Riviera with two top five finishes to go with two top twenty finishes in his last 4 starts here. The course suits his game well and I think he’ll relish this challenge around a course that suits his game with the worlds best teeing it up. He’s striking the ball very solidly and that’s exactly what Riviera rewards. If he starts well, his confidence can build and I think it’s his time.
Max Homa each-way (60/1 with Betfred)
8 places for each-way bets at Betfred.
My next selection is the regular MAX HOMA 60/1 EW. Homa rewarded us with each way returns last week and I think his price this week is more than fair. He’s been in great form since December and he was unlucky to only finish seventh last week. He had a bad break on the 5th hole on Sunday which cost him a double bogey. However he bounced back well and he now returns to Riviera where he finished 5th in 2020. Given the combination of recent form and course form he is a must for each way punters this week.
Marc Leishman each-way (50/1 with Betfred)
My next selection is MARC LEISHMAN 55/1 EW Leishman loves Riviera and it’s easy to see why. He’s challenged here twice in the last five years in which he finished in the top 5 both times. He has regular shown us he’s not scared to win big events and his game is trending in the right direction based on his recent results. He finished 4th two starts ago in Hawaii before a solid top 20 finish when he came in as defending champion at Torrey Pines. He’s freshened up with two weeks off and he’s another who’ll relish the challenge this week.
Cameron Davis each-way (80/1 with bet365)
8 places for each-way bets at bet365.
My final selection is CAMERON DAVIS 100/1 EW. Davis really caught the eye last week where he played his final three rounds at Pebble Beach in -12. It was a poor round one at Spyglass Hill that cost him a title challenge but it was still an impressive performance to back up what’s been a great start to 2021. He challenged for his maiden PGA Tour victory at The American Express a few weeks back where he shown no signs of nerves on Sunday shooting a final round of -8 and seemed to thrive under the pressure. I believe that gave him a lot of confidence and I believe his game shapes up well for Riviera. He’s a great driver of the ball which is crucial round here and his putting has improved from 2020 which is positive news. Good ew price.
