Golf Betting Tips – Joburg Open Preview & Selections
The European tour returns this week and we head to South Africa for the first of a two week run here. The field isn’t a strong one but the South African players hold a strong hand near the top of the market.
After a brilliant week with our US Masters tips saw Dustin Johnson win at odds of 9/1 as well as Cameron Smith (80/1) and Bookes Kopeka (16/1) landing the place money, Henry has picked out three JoBerg Open betting tips for this week’s tournament which gets underway on Thursday 19th November.
Joost Luiten (each-way) 22/1
My first selection this week is JOOST LUITEN 22/1 EW (SKY BET 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6). Luiten is one of the more recognisable names in this field and he is slowly returning to the form we expect from him with two top 10 finishes in his last four starts. It is no secret that Luiten loves playing in South Africa and he has previously stated it’s his favourite country.
He’ll be relishing the chance to play here this week with his game on the up. He will also found this a great opportunity to work his way into the Top 60 into the Race To Dubai so he qualifies for the final event of the season. He needs a strong showing here to get into the top 60 and he will have been preparing well over the last few weeks whilst some of the market leaders may be ready for a rest.
The course will suit as it’s a tricky course where I expect scoring to be hard. This accurate Dutchman will love that and hopefully, his irons can be as dialled in as usual.
Shubankar Sharma (each-way)
My next selection is SHUBANKAR SHARMA 28/1 EW (B
He’s had Masters week off and he now returns to a course where he’s won on before and won well I might say. The blend of solid recent form and great course form really catches my eye.
Johannes Veerman (each-way)
My final selection is JOHANNES VEERMAN 28/1 EW (PADDY POWER 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7). Veerman has really been striking the ball as well as ever in recent weeks and after showing glimpses of putting it all together three weeks ago in Cyprus, he ended up going really close the following week in the Cyprus Showdown where he just missed out finishing in a tie for 4th place.
I think that’ll have gave him a lot of confidence and I think this type of test will suit him perfectly this week as he can show off his ball striking skills yet again and hopefully roll in a few more putts. He’ll be looking to finish the season strongly and this is a great opportunity for him to challenge for his maiden title.
