The Masters 2020 Tips and Betting Preview – 9/1, 16/1, 40/1 and 80/1 Betting Tips

US Masters price boosts

The week is finally here, after an 18-month wait, Tiger Woods finally gets to defend his 2019 Masters victory in the first-ever autumn Masters and we have picked out four Masters tips – three each-way and one win bet.

The course looks as spectacular as ever and it’s set to be a fascinating week. Bryson DeChambeau heads the market and he could very well overpower this golf course but I have a niggling issue about his previous putting performances at Augusta which is enough to make me look elsewhere.

  • Tiger Woods will be looking to defend his crown and is currently 45/1 with bet365 to do so.
  • Bryson Dechambeau is well fancied and is the 8/1 favourite with William Hill.
  • The Masters starts on Thursday 12th November and runs until Sunday 15th November 2020.
  • You can watch live coverage of the event on Sky Sports Masters.

The Masters 2020 Preview

This year’s final major takes place this week at Augusta and the weather looks set to play a big part in the Autumn event. 82mm of rain is forecast for Thursday in Georgia and showers through the rest of the rounds. It will make for different conditions than the players are used to at Augusta National.

A slightly softer course will play into the longer hitters and the longest of them all, Bryson Dechambeau, will be a popular pick from The Masters betting odds. It will play long because the grass is cut in the direction of tee to green and so even if you miss the fairway you have chances to get up and down. It looks set to be a fascinating four days.

This year we lost The Open Championship from the calendar so The Masters becomes the third and final major of 2020. It is usally the first and played in April. Spo far this season we have seen Collin Morikawa’s win in the US PGA Championship in August and Bryson DeChambeau’s US Open success at Winged Foot in September.

  • Par 72

  • Stroke average in 2019 – 71.87

The Masters Tips 2020

This year’s Masters tips start off with a win selection and then the other three are each-way bets. There are a lot of bookies offering enhanced places for the Masters but that, in turn, will usually mean the odds are lower for the selections. The bookies advised for each bet are the ones where we think the best value is for that player.

Dustin Johnson Win – 9/1 with William Hill

US Masters William Hill offer

OfferWilliam Hill are guaranteed top price on the top 10 players in the US Masters odds. They’re also paying 9 places for each-way bets therefore if you are betting on any win bet you should use William Hill if they’re in the top 10 of the market.

My first selection is a very strong one and it is DUSTIN JOHNSON 9/1 WIN. For me, Dustin Johnson is the best golfer on the planet at the moment and his recent form is second to none. In his last seven starts his worst finish is Tied 6th which shows the level of golf he is currently playing at. He also won the FedEx Cup which is key as we all know winning breads winning in this game. He really caught the eye last week looking very rusty on day one before getting better and better as the week went on. He drove the ball very well on the weekend which is key around Augusta and he holed his fair share of footage on the greens on his way to a 2nd place finish. That will give him plenty of confidence heading to Augusta this week, especially the putting display. His game is perfect for Augusta and he can go one better than his 2nd place in the 2019 addition here. Strong fancy.

Brookes Koepka – 16/1

Best Bookies – William Hill

Why? – 9 places for each way bets and best odds guaranteed for Brookes Koepka.

My next selection is BROOKS KOEPKA 16/1 EW. Koepka is a man who loves to peak for the majors and he always seems to have a chance come Sunday. He has a history of getting it done with the only disappointing Sunday coming in the PGA Championship this year where he seemed to be fighting his game all week to me. Last week, he really caught the eye like DJ. He was all over the place off the tee on the first 2 days and somehow scrambled to make the cut. He then went back to his old driver for the weekend which resulted in him hitting more fairways, playing better golf and ended up challenging for the title from the cut line. That will have gave him so much confidence going into this week and he can kick on again here. I like the fact he’s a litttle fresher than some of his market rivals and he seems to be peaking for yet another major, whilst some of the others may come across a little rusty or a little fatigued. The course suits his game down to a tee and he has won at this time of year before. If he’s there on Sunday, he’s someone you’d expect to get the job done.

Jason Day – 40/1

Best Bookies – Bet365.

Why? – 40/1 for 8 places compared to 6 places at Bet Victor or only 28/1 at 888Sport.

My next selection is JASON DAY 40/1 EW. Day has the perfect game for Augusta with his draw shot shape and high ball flight. This is backed up by his previous results here and he arguable should already have a green jacket to his name. He was stellar for three rounds last week in Houston but sadly struggled on the final day. He didn’t actually play that bad on the Sunday but things just didn’t go his way and I’m happy to forgive that as it was still a tied 7th result which sets him up for a strong challenge this week. Top 5 in the first major of this season at the PGA Championship and I think he is definitely the best bet out of the players around the 40/1 mark here. Won a major before so won’t be phased.

Cameron Smith – 80/1

Best Bookies – Sky Bet or 888Sport.

Why? – 11 places for each-way bets at 60/1 with Sky Bet or 80/1 for 7 places with 888Sport.

My final selection is CAMERON SMITH 80/1 EW. Many people suggest Augusta is a second shot golf course and I can see the argument as it’s very important to hit the greens here unless your name is Phil Mickelson. Smith won earlier in the year but struggled for form soon after. He is slowly been returning to form week by week before putting it all together in the CJ Cup for a top 5 finish. Another player who always seems to finish the season strongly so an Autumn Masters could well suit him. He has a top 5 finish at Augusta previously and I could easily see him having another one here if his iron play continues to impress. Aussies have a fantastic record here at Augusta and he can go well at a price.
