US Masters 2021 Betting Tips and Predictions: Back these four against the Masters field
The first major of the year beckons and it’s great to have The Masters back in its traditional slot in April where the course looks likely to play firm and fast which will provide a true test for the worlds best.
I expect the scoring to be tougher than what we witnessed back in November in a soft Augusta.
- Par 72
- 7,475 yards
- Stroke average in 2020 – 71.75

Jordan Speith (9/1 with William Hill)
My first selection is JORDAN SPIETH 9/1. Jordan Spieth is back ladies and gentlemen. Even when he was struggling with his game he always seemed to compete here at Augusta and show glimpses of the ability we know he has. A win last week in his home state of Texas is no negative in my eyes because it has ended the win drought going back to 2017 and he’s a confidence player now brewing with confidence. He can’t be anymore confident coming off the back of a victory the week before he arrives at his favourite course. His approach play has been phenomenal in recent weeks and when he’s competed here at Augusta (which is most years) he’s always been high in the strokes-gained approach rankings. This could be telling given how well his approach play has looked in recent weeks. The putter was also really encouraging last week too. He looked assured from inside ten feet and he was making them clunch putts he always used to make when he was considered the worlds best. The first three years he came to Augusta he went 2-1-2 which is when his game was at his best. Results of 11-3-21-46 have followed but they’re still respectable finishes in a major for a player who was lacking in confidence at the time. The recent form and course form correlation along with his pure talent, I’d have him the most likely winner this week by a long way.
Patrick Cantlay EW (22/1 with William Hill – 9 places)
My next selection is PATRICK CANTLAY 22/1. Cantlay is the complete golfer and his form in 2021 has been really encouraging heading into the weeks first major. Even though he went out during the Group Stage at the Match Play on his last start, he played the best golf over the first two days there making numerous birdies on both Wednesday and Thursday. He had an off day on the Friday and given the format that was enough for him to exit early. However, that will have gave him plenty of time to rest and prepare for this week which I see as a positive. The last two Masters he has finished 9-17 but I believe he’s a player improving all the time and I think he enters this week in the best form he’s been in heading into the years first major. He’s ready to step up and compete at the very highest level and I believe he will do just that this week.
Webb Simpson (30/1 with Paddy Power – 10 places)
My next selection is WEBB SIMPSON 40/1. The course is going to play firm and fast this week which is exactly what Webb will relish given his lack of power off the tee. He dominated the Players Championship from start to finish back in 2018 and I expect the course this week to play similar to the way it did that week to be honest. The last three years here at Augusta he has went 20-5-10 which suggests to me he has started to get to grips with what Augusta requires and I think his strong putting game on a tough Augusta set up will take him along way this week. It could even take him to the Butlers Cabin.
Sergio Garcia (45/1 with William Hill – 9 places)
My final selection is SERGIO GARCIA 50/1 EW. Winner here back in 2017 to get his elusive first major, every time he returns to Augusta he is always going to have great memories. He has disappointed in the two trips since but he’s striking the ball as well as he did in 2017 recently and I think he can go very well here this week. He certainly caught the eye in the Match Play two weeks ago where he struck it as well as anyone over the first few days. Similar to Cantlay, one bad day and he left the party but he’ll be fresh heading into this week and raring to go. At The Players Championship last month, he led after day one and despite a really cold putter he still had a chance of victory come Sunday which shows how well he’s hitting it. He always putts better on quick greens and that’s exactly what he’ll get this week and I think he’s a great each way bet this week.
