Golf Tips – Waste Management Phoenix Open Betting Tips 2021

Phoenix Open tips

The PGA Tour heads to Arizona this week as TPC Scottsdale is the home of this weeks event and Henry has picked out three each-way betting tips for the event, which starts on Thursday 4th February.

A tournament that always attracts the fans with the famous 16th stadium hole will look a lot different this year. However, the field is the strongest we’ve seen for a while with defending champion Webb Simpson joined by the likes of Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy.

Jon Rahm is the current favourite at odds of 13/2, with Justin Thomas 9/1 and Rory McIlroy 11/1 in the outright betting odds.

William Hill are paying EIGHT places for each-way bets on the event and if you open an account you’ll get 2 free £15 bets after betting £10.

Phoenix Open Betting Tips

  • Daniel Berger
  • Sungjar Im
  • Max Homa

Daniel Berger – 20/1 with William Hill (8 places)

My first selection this week is DANIEL BERGER 20/1 EW. Berger had his best year to date on Tour in 2020 which including a victory at Colonial where he beat PGA Champion Collin Morikawa down the stretch. He’ll be expecting 2021 to be more of the same and has been putting a lot of effort on over the winter period to ensure his game is in top shape. He’s started 2021 brightly with two top 10 finishes in Hawaii on courses that may not suit his game as well as this weeks venue. In his six attempts at TPC Scottsdale he has 4 finishes inside the top 11 which shows how much his game fits this venue. He now returns here playing the best golf of his career and a bold bid for victory has to be expected.

Sungjae Im – 33/1 with William Hill (8 places)

My next selection is SUNGJAE IM 33/1 EW. Im is another young South Korean golfer going places and he proved it numerous times last year including when finishing second in the Masters in November despite it being his tournament debut. He’s been a little in and out to start 2021 but he finished in the top 5 in the 2021 opener in Hawaii, 13th two weeks ago and only a bad back nine last Sunday cost him from having another very good finish. He now returns to a course more suited to his game and in two tries here, he has finished 7th and 34th. I think he’ll be right there on Sunday.

Max Homa – 70/1 with Betfred (7 places)

My final selection is MAX HOMA 70/1 EW. Homa has caught the eye over his last three starts. His worse finish has been a tie for 21st and he has shown consistent high quality golfer. He wa unlucky two weeks in The American Express where he had no luck on Sunday but I’m happy to put that down to a bad day at the office given he has shown guts to win at this level last season. He finished in the top 20 last week at Torrey Pines and I think he’d prefer a more friendly course like he’ll get this week. He finished 6th here last year and I think he can improve on that this time round.
