Aintree Lucky 15 Tip for Friday 4th April – £1 Lucky 15 Returns £4319

Our lucky 15 tip for day 2 of the Grand National Festival at Aintree covers four of the live ITV races and includes a 10/1 shot.
A £1 lucky 15 on these four selections returns over £4000 if all four win, and just for one winner, we would get a return at treble the odds with Betfred.
1:45 Aintree
The opener on day 2 is the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices Chase over 3m1f.
I think HANDSTANDS (2/1) is the one they have to beat here. A chase debut faller has far from affected his confidence over the larger obstacles as he’s won his next three starts, including the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Chase at Sandown last time out. He showed a strong attitude that day to fend off Arkle winner Jango Baie. His jumping has become an asset, and this step-up in trip will arguably bring out further improvement. I’d have concerns over chief market rival Caldwell Potter staying this trip.
2:55 Aintree
The 2:55 is our next selection, and it comes in the Grade 1 Top Novices Hurdle over 2 miles.
It is DIVA LUNA (10/1) for me here who I think will be well suited by this test. She’s a speedy mare but doesn’t lack for stamina, and I think she’ll get an easy time out in front in this. She ran a cracker finishing third in the Mares Novice at Cheltenham where she maybe paid for sitting near the string early pace. If Ben Jones can dictate as I expect, they may struggle to get by her.
4:05 Aintree
The 4:05 is the National fences, the Topham Handicap Chase over 2m5f.
I like GLENGOULY (10/1) in this who looks handicapped to go close. He went well for a long way from the front last season in the Grand National before stamina told, which resulted in him weakening and unseating his rider 3 from home. Things haven’t looked too promising this year, but I’m sure this has been his main ai,m and the Aintree fences may well perk him back up. He’s off 5lb lower this time, and this 2m5f trip will obviously suit him a lot more. He’ll give it a bold showing under Danny Mullins I have no doubt.
4:40 Aintree
The final selection comes in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices Hurdle over the extended 3-mile trip.
My final selection is BATTLE BORN LAD (11/2) from the shrewd Robert Walford operation. A winner of his novice hurdle debut over 2 miles, he relished the step up to 3 miles on his next start when bolting up at Haydock by over 5 lengths. He likes to go forward and this race has always suited the prominent races in years gone back. He’ll bounce off the fast surface and I think he’s value in a weak Grade 1.
