Ideal Self-Hire Wedding Venue Nursery Handicap – 1:40

Bella Caelia has shown that she can handle testing conditions, finishing fifth on her nursery debut at Brighton on soft ground earlier this month. She will only come on for that run and looks a solid each-way bet over the same trip in this Class 6 Nursey Handicap under the ride of Martin Dwyer.

Selection: Bella Caelia (5/1 with William Hill)

British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes – 2:15

Although Tolstoy will go off as the strong favourite in a race where he looks to have been found a great opportunity to win again, the selection is an each-way gamble. Mega Marvel made his debut here two weeks ago and led for a long time before weakening in the final furlong. That experience will do him good and makes him a danger in the 10-horse field.

Selection: Mega Marvel (12/1 with William Hill)

British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes – 2:50

Sacred Jewel showed some promise when fourth to subsequent winner of the Lowther, Zain Claudette, at Newmarket in June. She is the daughter of Dubawi and should progress for that performance with James Doyle in the saddle.

Selection: Sacred Jewel (2/1 with William Hill)

Happy 50th Birthday Jennifer Stone Claiming Stakes – 3.25

Tipperary Tiger is likely to off as a strong favourite having raced at a higher level than this on his most recent runs, but preference is for Imperial Eight. She broke her maiden at the seventh time of asking at Catterick recently and is bred to handle plenty of cut in the ground. She gets the each-way nod.

Selection: Imperial Eight (5/1 with William Hill)

Light Brigade Handicap – 4.00

Seven runners are set to go in the Class 2 Light Brigade Handicap over 1m. The each-way selection is Dashing Roger, who despite looking out of his depth in the Balmoral Handicap last week, demolished his rivals in this race last year on similar ground. Jack Mitchell takes the ride for the William Stone yard.

Selection: Dashing Roger (5/1 with William Hill)

Balaclava Handicap – 4.35

A competitive Class 3 race over 5f with all seven runners in with a chance. However, due to the forecasted testing conditions, it might be worth backing the ever-consistent Ey Up It’s Maggie. She remains on the same mark as her last race and could deliver another big performance for trainer, Tony Coyle.

Selection: Ey Up It’s Maggie (4/1 with William Hill)

AJA Novice Flat Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap – 5.10

A competitive contest to end the day will see Far Too Beautiful try to get back to winning ways. She is the daughter of Farhh and has not been seen in testing conditions since winning on her debut. She beat a rival that day who is now rated 88 and her mark for this could be underestimated on the forecast ground. She gets the each-way nod.

Selection: Far Too Beautiful (16/1 with William Hill)
