Racing on Thursday comes from Wetherby, over Jumps, and Southwell and Newcastle, on the Flat.

We’ve zeroed in on three selections, one at each meeting, which we think are worth an interest.

Lady Of The Night won easily, off a 2lb lower mark, on her seasonal reappearance at Fontwell last month, before a lesser effort behind subsequent winner Holly Hartingo at Ludlow two weeks later. She makes her steeplechasing debut, but relishes testing conditions, so may be able to make an instant impression over the larger obstacles.

Southwell: 2:25 Betway Handicap 6f

Lightly-raced 5-year-old Tommy De Vito hasn’t been seen in public since late October, but was returning from a much longer absence when winning at Kempton on that occasion and may be capable of better yet. The son of high-class sprinter Dandy Man has winning form on Tapeta and, off a 4lb higher mark, may be able to land another blow for his in-form yard.

Newcastle: 5:00 MansionBet Beaten By A Head Handicap 1m

Grangeclair View was returning from a 214-day break when only beaten a neck at Southwell on his return to action six weeks ago, so a 2lb rise in the weights should not prevent another bold bid here. He races off the same handicap mark as when third in a 0-90 contest over course and distance last April, but that form still makes decent reading in the context of this lesser assignment.
