PSG vs Liverpool – Champions League Quarter-Final First Leg

This is a rematch of last season’s round of 16, which PSG won on penalties at Anfield after Liverpool had won the first leg 1-0 in Paris. PSG went on to win the Champions League and enter this tie as defending champions and tournament favourites.
PSG have been dominant at home this season, and have led the Champions League in goals scored with 34 across the competition. They dismantled Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate in the last 16. Liverpool, whose Champions League campaign is now their only realistic chance of silverware this season following their FA Cup exit, overturned a first-leg deficit against Galatasaray to advance 4-1 on aggregate.
Liverpool rank first in the competition for total shots and shots on target per game, while PSG have shown vulnerabilities defensively, conceding 17 goals and keeping just three clean sheets. Mohamed Salah, who recently became the first African player to reach 50 Champions League goals, and Florian Wirtz are Liverpool’s primary attacking threats.
