AFC Fylde vs Chorley Preview

AFC Fylde were victorious on the opening day of the campaign, and as a result, the Coasters have been moved into favouritism for the title. Danny Rowe was once again amongst the goalscorers, and it was his penalty that secured a narrow victory over Aldershot. It was a decent away performance, with Mark Yeates amongst the players to impress in Hampshire. With six debutantes taking to the field, it was always likely to be a slightly disjointed performance, but Dave Challinor’s side should only get stronger as the season progresses. They’re back at home on Tuesday night, and it was a relatively happy hunting ground for the men from the Fylde Coast last season. Chesterfield were the only side to beat them here in 2019, and they should be strong enough to see off newly promoted Chorley in their second fixture of the campaign. Challinor’s subs helped change the game at the weekend, and with the likes of Nick Haughton and Matty Kosylo able to provide some additional energy from the bench, they should be difficult to beat this season.

Chorley began their stint in the National League with a goalless draw against Bromley. They had fewer shots than the hosts, but they weren’t outplayed by any stretch of the imagination, and it bodes well for the remainder of the campaign. A clean sheet at home will also be pleasing for boss Jamie Vermiglio. Despite carrying the momentum of promotion with them, Chorley haven’t had the best of preparations for the new campaign with a number of injury setbacks striking throughout June and July. Jake Cottrell fractured his finger, Scott Leather and Matt Urwin are both still on the sidelines whilst Louis Almond didn’t make it in time for the opener. They lacked a little bit of creativity in the final third, and that is something for the coaching staff to work on ahead of this difficult looking away trip.

AFC Fylde vs Chorley Betting Tips

AFC Fylde are expected to win this with relative ease, and they should be able to make it back-to-back wins. The Coasters are very strong at home, and although Chorley kept a clean sheet at the weekend, they may struggle to keep out the free-scoring Danny Rowe on Tuesday night. The hosts are unlikely to cruise to victory, hence why backing them to win the game 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 with Betvictor is a sensible approach to this one. It is a market which isn’t available with many other bookmakers, and if you sign up for an account this week, you’ll get a free £2 football bet EVERY SINGLE WEEK during the football season.

The aforementioned Danny Rowe may also be worth backing to find the net, and make it two from two. He is a short price, but the 8/11 available with Bet365 is definitely worth a second glance.
