Argentina v Paraguay Betting Tips and Predictions
Argentina v Paraguay predictions and football betting tips for Saturday 13th June’s Copa America 2015 clash with the best free football tips.
Argentina are one of the two favourites to win the Copa America 2015 and they start their Group B campaign against Paraguay on Saturday.
Argentina v Paraguay Predictions
The Argentinians were much fancied for the World Cup last summer but just fell short, but they weren’t embarrassed like their fellow frontrunners Brazil. They have the firepower to outscore any team in this or indeed any competition. If it all comes together, they will be unstoppable with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuaín and Carlos Tevez. They also have the tenacity of Javier Mascherano and the industrious work of Pablo Zabaleta. They haven’t won this competition since 1993 and the Le Albiceleste will be wondering when they are going to end their trophy drought.
They will surely progress from their group with Jamaica and a Suarez-less Uruguay to face after their opener against the Paraguayans.
We have mentioned their embarrassment of riches and haven’t touched upon Lionel Messi, the man who was helped fire his side to Champions League victory this season, but failed to net in the final. There are still some doubt over whether the magician can perform his tricks and pull the rabbit out of the hat on the big stage, but Argentina fans will be hoping he can shine over the next few weeks.
With so much attacking prowess on show, it’s anyone’s guess who will fill the forward positions in the opening game. How will Gerardo Martino keep his squad happy and rotated will be one of the key questions answered during the 90 minutes.
Paraguay will be looking to shock a few and qualify from Group B of the 2015 Copa America at the expense of one of Uruguay or today’s opponents. They are still heavily reliant on former Blackburn man Roque Santa Cruz and he scored twice earlier in the week in a warm up match. Two of the third place finishers will qualify for the next stage and Paraguay will realistically be aiming for that position. They have progressed from the Group Stage the last three times in this tournament. It could be 35 years old defender Paolo Da Silva’s last major tournament but he will have some organising to do to stop his side conceding.
Argentina hit five earlier in the week when Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero scored all the goals and I think it would be a decent bet for them to score at least three goals once again for my first football betting tip this weekend. If things aren’t working out, they can change it around and bring on the kind of firepower their opponents can only dream about.
Our first Argentina v Paraguay betting tip is for Argentina to score over 2.5 goals, the best odds are 11/8 at Bet365.
Despite his poor domestic season at Man Utd, Angel Di Maria continues to fire them in for his national side. He scored twice in a 5-0 victory against Bolivia and I think he could score against marginally better opposition this time around. He is good from set piece situations and could benefit from rebounds and chances created from his fellow attackers.
Our next Argentina v Paraguay prediction is for Angel Di Maria to score anytime and the best odds are 29/20 with William Hill.
Argentina are far too short to back as a single, so it makes sense to increase the odds slightly by backing them to win with over 2.5 goals in the game. There are bound to be goals, most likely for Argentina, but with Roque Santa Cruz on the pitch, Paraguay could chip in.
Our third Argentina v Paraguay prediction is for Argentina to win and over 2.5 goals in the game at 10/11 with SportingBet.
