Arsenal vs Man City Match Prediction, Preview and Betting Tips

The most super of the overhyped Super Sundays has arrived. So many times this season it’s been advisable to go home and have a roast with family, but not this Sunday.

If it were Hollywood it would have some amazing, crowd enticing tagline: Super Sunday – Clash of the Uber-tronic-titan-giants. God love the Americans.

Rolling off the back of one of the world’s volatile derbies, Arsenal have charged Manchester City £62 a ticket for the pleasure travelling from one UAE branded stadium to another. So it’s up to us to make some of that back. Manchester City showed a glimpse of what they can do in their last league outing, and including a tricky(ish) cup fixture they’ve scored ten in three. Focal point of the attack, Sergio Aguero, looks likely to sit this one out so Bosnian substitute Edin Dzeko will continue and looks more likely to net than the patchy Carlos Tevez; 13/2 with Bet365 is a dzek of a price… Sorry.

Arsenal have turned around a previously sketchy home form lately, four wins and a loss to Michu in the last five hosted games. Despite a relatively meek forward line, Arsenal have only scored one less than City in the league and have three hat tricks from midfield. Picking an Arsenal goalscorer is tricky. Let’s play the game out mentally: City start bright, score before half time (hopefully through Dzeko), Arsenal control the game in the second half and finally get back on level terms. With that potentially embarrassing prediction in mind, we must look to the substitutes, most probably Oliver Giroud and The Ox to square it up. Last goalscorer prices are 7/1 and 14/1.

While the game may not pan out to my precise forecast, Arsenal accumulating their third draw in a row seems the likely of the three outcomes to bet on with the William Hill sign-up bonus. Bet365 are best priced to finish level at 5/2. So a score on the draw and Man City fans have covered their ticket. But then they’d be cheering a draw in, which defeats the object of the journey. Don’t forget to put a pint on Man City/Draw at 14/1 in case I’m on form.
