Atalanta vs Sassuolo predictions and betting tips for Sunday’s Serie A clash at the Mapei Stadium. Le Dea will be hoping to cap off a magnificant season with a final day victory in their visitors own back yard.
Atalanta will need three points to ensure they secure third place
La Dea haven’t lost since February 23rd
They won 6-2 at this stadium when the sides met at the end of December
Kick Off Time: 19:30pm
Date: 26th May, 2019
Venue: Mapei Stadium
This fixture is being played at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium as Atalanta’s stadium is undergoing some renovations this weekend. The Bergamo club are used to these surroundings however, as they played here regularly during their Europa League campaign. It is only 83 miles for the fans to travel, so despite the change of surroundings, they should be backed by a vociferous support once again.
Atalanta actually only lost once during their spell at the Mapei Stadium, and they come into this fixture in excellent form. Gian Pier Gasperini has been linked with a move away from the club, but he will want to guarantee that Le Dea secure third place before any potential departure.
It shows how far the club has come that fans were talking ‘dropping points’ against Juventus last weekend. They would have secured second place with a victory against the champions, but they missed chances in the second half, and their fate will rest on this final game.
Although they have wasted chances this season (notably against Empoli), they have certainly been one of the more entertaining and high-scoring teams in the division this season. They are a short price to win this game, and therefore we’ll have to search for alternatives.
Sassuolo have absolutely nothing to play for, but they have remained relatively competitive over the last few weeks. Their coaching staff have confirmed that they will play a full strength side in this game, and that they will not take their foot off the pedal.
They have scored in four of their last five games, and held Roma to a 0-0 draw last weekend. Their season is not finished yet, and they will certainly play their part in a very entertaining spectacle.
Atalanta To Win and Both Teams to Score has landed in three of the last four meeting, and is a decent-looking 7/5 on Sunday. That best price is available with Betfair.
Although Duvan Zapata has been the star of the show this season, and understandably attracted the majority of the headlines, he is a very short price to score anytime here.
Josip Illic may just be a better option in the anytime goalscorer market. He is likely to be departing at the end of the campaign, and will be keen to end on a high.
He’s netted 13 times this campaign, although three of those goals came in the reverse fixture with Sassuolo. He also netted the equaliser against Juventus, and could be the best man to back here.
He is currently available at 11/10 with Ladbrokes, and that is a standout price. Josip Illic to score anytime is the second of our Atalanta vs Sassuolo betting tips, and new customers can get a £40 free bet to use on this game.

Although this may seem a little counter intuitive, I don’t think this will be quite as high-scoring as the markets suggest. Over 2.5 Goals is very short, and the two sides did play out a 6-2 thriller earlier in the season, but situations have changed significantly.
La Dea will be a little cautious about losing their grip on third place, and they have been better defensively lately. They haven’t conceded more than a single goal in a game since losing 2-0 in Turin at the end of February. They’ve also shipped just four times in seven matches, and they could make it difficult for Sassuolo for long periods of the game.
Their opponents come off the back of a goalless draw with Roma, and they’ve kept three clean sheets in six matches.
Under 3.5 Goals might be sensible way of approaching this game. It is available at 10/11 with Boylesports, and they are offering a free £25 bet for every new customer.
Atalanta Win – 11/50
