Boxing Day Football Predictions: A Low Down on All the Premier League Fixtures

Boxing Day football is as traditional as a roast turkey or your Dad falling asleep on the couch after one too many ales and Ferrero Rocher. It isn’t Christmas without them.

This season we’re blessed with an almost full set of fixtures with two televised games for you to enjoy.

Here’s our lowdown on the Boxing Day fixtures, alongside odds, predictions and kick off times…

Tottenham v Southampton

Spurs vs APOEL

12.30pm, Sky Sports

Tottenham: 2/5

Southampton: 13/2

Draw: 16/5

Tottenham will be looking to close the gap on the top four over Christmas and certainly won’t be dropping points against the Saints. The bookies have Spurs at 2/ 5 for the game and we wouldn’t mind a Harry Kane brace to kick off a Boxing Day extravaganza.

Prediction: A comfortable Tottenham win.

Bournemouth v West Ham

West Ham vs Arsenal Betting Tips

15.00pm

Bournemouth: Evens

West Ham: 13/5

Draw: 23/10

West Ham are certainly on the up with David Moyes and have picked up some good results of late. We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a huge Christmas for the Hammers that really gets them out of trouble.

Bournemouth have struggled if late, and we expect that new Manager syndrome and an extra bit of grit in West Ham’s teeth could be their undoing.

Prediction: A close West Ham win. We’d back 2-1.

Chelsea v Brighton

15.00pm

Chelsea: 1/ 6

Brighton: 14/1

Draw: 11/2

If we were to look for excuses for Chelsea to lose this one, it’d be Antonio Conte’s frustration at the fixture list and making a point about needing to spend in January.

We’d be very surprised if that happened though at Stamford Bridge and a home win looks a banker. A cheeky free bet on Brighton though?

Prediction: Comfortable Chelsea win

Huddersfield v Stoke

15.00pm

Huddersfield: 7/4

Stoke: 6/4

Draw: 11/5

Stoke are currently in freefall and are in serious danger. In fact, it’s not been that rosy for Huddersfield either. However, a Boxing Day crowd at the John Smith’s Stadium could be the difference.

Both will want to take the points and further themselves from the relegation zone. The Potters have been truly awful of late though and we expect Mark Hughes worries to continue.

Prediction: A Happy Christmas for Huddersfield fans and a 3-0 win.

Liverpool v Swansea

15.00pm

Liverpool: 1/ 7

Swansea: 18/1

Draw: 11/2

Swansea are at 18/1 for a reason, they can’t buy a win. The club sit rock bottom and we all know what that means at Christmas.

Liverpool will add to those woes with Mo Salah likely to run riot. Back goals from him and a high scoring Reds win.

Prediction: A Liverpool rout

Manchester United v Burnley

Where did the Red Devils fall short in the Manchester derby?

15.00pm

Manchester United: 1/ 5

Burnley: 14/1

Draw: 9/2

Burnley are in fine form this season, but so are Manchester United. Most will fancy a home win on this one and we’d be hard pushed to disagree.

The Clarets are worth a Premier League free bet and are good value at 14/1, while the draw could also be a nice wager. We can see United just edging this one though.

Prediction: Manchester United in a tight 1-0 win

Watford v Leicester

15.00pm

Watford: 13/10

Leicester: 2/1

Draw: 9/4

Leicester have really picked up since the arrival of Claude Puel and the game at Vicarage Road could be a real cracker.

Marco Silva has got his men playing some great football at home and we expect both to give as good as they get.

We’d fancy a couple of goals with the Foxes’ Mahrez and Watford’s Richarlison in excellent form.Prediction: A score draw, 2-2 is our Boxing Day bet.
