Brazil couldn’t break down Paraguay in the quarter finals and that is the second time they have been held to a 0-0 draw in this competition, with Venezuela also keeping out Tite’s side in the group stages. Their other two matches did result in convincing wins though, beating Bolivia 3-0 and Peru 5-0. In the 14 games since losing to Belgium in the World Cup, Brazil have not lost any and quite remarkably, they have only conceded two goals.

Argentina stumbled through their group games, losing 2-0 to Colombia before being held to a draw by Paraguay. They needed to win their last match and did exactly that, beating Qatar 2-0, Sergio Aguero wrapped up the three points with their second goal. In the quarter finals Argentina came good once again, beating a stubborn Venezuela side 2-0.
