Brighton vs Bournemouth predictions and football betting tips for Friday night’s Championship game from our expert football tipsters.
Bournemouth showed their class on Monday when they battled back from a two goal deficit against Birmingham. The Cherries found themselves 2-0 down, but turned the game on its head winning 4-2 and moving back to the top of the table. They have the chance to extend that lead by playing before the rest of the division on Friday night.
Brighton have been underwhelming this season, but Chris Hughton has steered them away from the relegation zone after a disastrous spell under Sami Hyppia. The Seagulls have some decent players and have relied quite heavily on loanees this season, but once they have Andrew Crofts and Dale Stephens back to full fitness, they should add a little consistency to their game. With Chris O’Grady and Sam Baldock, they really should score more goals than they do. Just 43 goals in 40 games is a poor return in the Championship, a division where defences often come off second best.
I can’t see past an away win here for my football betting tips, Bournemouth showed that they can dominate average opponents in this league and there’s a reason why they sit top of the pile at this stage of the season. Pundits and fans alike had written them off long ago and said they couldn’t sustain their promotion push, but they are proving people wrong and must surely be favourites to go up automatically.
They are short, but with good reason and I would strongly recommend 19/20 with Bet Victor about them beating Brighton.
Although Brighton don’t score many, Bournemouth keep few clean sheets. Just six clean sheets away from home and I can see Brighton sneaking a goal at some point during the 90 minutes. Instead of backing both teams to score, I would prefer to take over 2.5 goals. It’s 4/5 with Sky Bet that there are more than three goals in this one and 23 of Bournemouth’s games this season have finished that way.
Our second Brighton v Bournemouth prediction is for over 2.5 goals at 4/5 with Sky Bet.
Last time I wrote a Bournemouth betting preview, I suggested Kenwyne Jones as an anytime goalscorer, the former Sunderland man duly obliged as he came on and nodded home within a couple of minutes. This time I will bet on Yann Kermogant to score anytime during the 90 minutes. The Frenchman has been in decent form and is a penalty taker in the team. With the pace of Callum Wilson, Bournemouth seem to average a penalty every couple of games and the former Leicester man could be the man to step up.
Bet on Yann Kermogant from the anytime goalscorer market for our third and final football tip at 9/5 with Coral.
