Manchester City to win

Pep Guardiola’s side are on the brink of history and they’re expected to complete the job of winning the clubs first ever Champions League trophy on Saturday. His team come into the final off the back of a fantastic season having already won the Premier League and League Cup, and now the icing on the cake would be winning the final. City warmed up for this by beating Everton 5-0 in the final Premier League match of the season and have won 11 of their 12 Champions League matches so far. They have controlled pretty much every one of those games and the defensive issuses which have plagued them in recent seasons, seem to have been ironed out, largely thanks to Ruben Dias.

Chelsea will be no pushovers but having lost the FA Cup final, and then stumbling into the top four positions after Leicester failed to beat Spurs on the final day of the season, they are not going into the final in the best of form. Goalscoring is a problem for Chelsea and Timo Werner might not be the long term answer.

City are expected to have too much firepower here and they are a good price to win the Champions League final in the 90 minutes.

Phil Foden to score anytime

The youngster has had a breakthrough season at his hometown club and he is set to be an integral part of the England squad at Euro 2020. But first, he will want to win the Champions League for his side and he is expected to be thrown into the starting line-up for Pep Guardiola’s side. Raheem Sterling has not been in good form for City so Foden and Mahrez could both start. He was unlucky not to score in both legs of the semi-final against PSG, hitting the post and being denied after a wonderful run through the PSG defence.

Over 2.5 goals

Manchester City have been very professional in their Champions League matches this season, a far cry from other campaigns which have seen them throw in the odd horror show in defence. However, they are capable of getting three or more goals themselves against Chelsea, even if they do keep a clean sheet. Chelsea played well against Real Madrid though, and if Mason Mount is on form they can certainly trouble City here. This might be more of a Premier League game than a Champions League one and if that is the case, we should have an exciting final.

Cesar Azpilicueta to be booked

The Chelsea captain will be up against one of Manchester City’s flying wingers this weekend and his ageing legs are a concern for Chelsea. His experience gets him through matches and he won’t think twice about a tactical foul if he needs to make one. City’s constant attacking and keeping the ball will be frustrating for Chelsea so we’re likely to see them pick up one or two cards at least, and the wide areas are where this looks most likely.
