Bolton vs West Brom predictions and betting tips for this Championship match on Monday night with a goals prediction and anytime goalscorer included.
This match is expected to be fairly one-sided and it’s difficult to see anything other than a WBA win. Darren Moore’s side may not have been at their fluent best against Norwich ten days ago but they should have more than enough firepower to beat beleagured Bolton.
The Trotters have got numerous issues off-the-field and their form on the pitch isn’t much better. They’ve been better away from the Macron in recent months and this should be straightforward for the promotion chasing Baggies.
West Brom started the season in free-scoring form and whilst those performances have become more infrequent, they still carry a significant threat and this is a very winnable fixture for the Baggies. The former Premier League side were shocked on the opening day of the season by the Trotters, who enjoyed a hugely profitable to the campaign but Phil Parkinson’s side have won just four times since that victory and they’ve been victorious on just two occasions since late August. There are numerous issues at work off-the-field and the Christian Doige-saga hasn’t helped matters but the squad lacks quality and they are likely to fall short here.
They’ve scored just three times in six games and if they find the net, they will do everything that can to hold onto that precious lead. WBA haven’t won in three games but they’ve faced some difficult opposition and this should be much easier. They’ve won 6/13 on the road and won four of the last five on their travels. They may have lost Harvey Barnes but they still have plenty of firepower and the potent combination of Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle should get plenty of joy against the Trotters defence. It’s a very simple selection but a West Brom win is the first of our Championship predictions for Monday night.
In each of West Brom’s six away victories this season, there have been three or more goals and I expect this game to go the same way. The Baggies’ defence hasn’t been particularly secure this season and they could realistically concede a goal to the bottom club here. They do have plenty of attacking talent in their ranks and they create plenty of chances per match. Three of their last four away wins have ended 2-1 to the visitors and they hit four against Rotherham fairly recently. Darren Moore’s side have one of the best Over 2.5 Goals records in the division with 62% of their away games featuring three or more goals. It is the second of our Bolton vs West Brom predictions for Monday night.
West Brom have shared the goals around in recent weeks and they will miss the goal threat of Harvey Barnes, who returned to Leicester earlier this month. Jay Rodriguez is likely to be on penalty duty and with questions over Dwight Gayle’s fitness levels, it might be best to back for former Burnley man. He’s scored 13 so far this season and his goals have been shared between home/away games. He is towards the top of the betting but looks the likliest to find the back of the net. Jay Rodriguez – Anytime Goalscorer is the third of our Bolton vs West Brom betting tips.
The stats suggest that we should see some goals in this tie. Over 2.5 Goals will be popular at 10/11 whilst those who want to go one step further can back Over 3.5 Goals at 12/5. 2-3 Goals Exactly has landed in two of the last four Bolton games and in each of the last four West Brom matches. It’s 20/21 to land here.
West Brom are one of the poorer sides when it comes to corners and another low count is expected here. Under 9.5 corners routinely lands in WBA games and it’s 17/20 with 888Sport to pay-out once again on Monday night.
Our anytime goalscorer selection is available at 4/1 to get the first goal of the match here and he is closely followed by team-mate Dwight Gayle at 9/2. Hal Robson-Kanu could play a portion of this match and is 11/2 to break the deadlock in this one. For Bolton, Clayton Donaldson and Josh Magennis are seen as their best chances and can be backed at 8/1 and 17/2 respectively.
