Championship Betting Tips for this Weekend Saturday 10th March

Bristol City predictions

Championship predictions for this weekend with the best three bets for Saturday’s matches. Below you’ll find our best three bets for the games taking place on Saturday 10th March.

Things are really beginning to hot up in the Championship right now, with even the division’s mid-table teams viewing promotion as a realistic aim given the small points gap between sixth and twelfth place. Read our top three Championship betting tips for this weekend below.

Preston vs Fulham Prediction

Two teams very much in the hunt for Premier League football next season are Preston North End and Fulham, who meet at Deepdale on Saturday.

The Lancashire club sit just one point outside the play-offs with ten games remaining and will be looking to put together a good run as we reach the campaign’s climax.

Alex Neil’s side stuttered a little in February but have since recorded back-to-back wins to give them renewed hope of a top six finish.

Fulham, though, have only lost once in 2018 – and that was in the FA Cup against Southampton. In fact, they are currently on an incredible 14-game unbeaten streak in the league; a run which includes eleven victories.

This red-hot form has seen the Londoners surge up the table, with some observers even discussing whether they could challenge Cardiff and Wolverhampton for the automatic promotion spots.

I fancy Fulham a lot here, and it’s hard not to at the minute. You can get a very appetising 17/10 with Betfair on them heading south with all three points here, which more than tempts.

Burton vs Bristol City Prediction

Bristol City are another club with aspirations of reaching the Premier League and will see their visit to Burton Albion as the perfect opportunity to pile more pressure on the teams above them.

It’s fair to say that Burton have struggled this season, having registered just two victories in their eighteen Championship home matches. They have also been conceding at a rate of two per game in front of their own fans – a recipe for disaster when coupled with a misfiring attack.

Unsurprisingly, the Robins are odds-on favourites to take all three points at the Pirelli Stadium, with 5/6 at Coral the best you’ll find.

But that still looks good value given the Brewers’ hapless showing at home, and the fact that Bristol really need to win to stay in touch with the chasing pack.

Ipswich v Sheffield United Prediction

Sheffield United’s trip to East Anglia this Saturday pits the top half of the Championship’s two leakiest defences together.

Just four points separate Ipswich and the Blades going into this one, which makes picking the outcome a tricky proposition.

What we can be fairly confident about, however, is the potential for goals to be scored.

Neither side boasts a particularly resilience backline – substantiated by a combined ‘goals against’ tally of 87 so far – and I’d expect both teams to concede at least one each during the 90 minutes.

Ladbrokes go a best-priced 10/11 on both teams scoring at Portman Road, which is far longer than the odds you typically see in a Championship match so we’re putting that up as the third Championship tip on Saturday.

With both teams certain to avoid relegation, you would expect them to go for it given that a run of three or four consecutive wins could make finishing in the play-offs an achievable target.
