Swansea vs Birmingham Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview

Swansea predictions

Swansea vs Birmingham predictions and betting tips for this midweek Championship fixture on Tuesday 29th January with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

This appears to be a must-win game for both sides on Tuesday evening. Graham Potter’s men enjoyed a fairly straightforward passage into the fifth round of the FA Cup at the weekend and they arrive here in exceptional form. They have won three of the last four games in all competitions and are closing in on the play-offs. Birmingham’s good form has evaporated over the last couple of weeks but they’ve endured some tough fixtures and they will be keen to back on track here. See our Swansea vs Birmingham predictions below.

Swansea vs Birmingham Predictions

The Swans have been playing some lovely football under Graham Potter and the former Ostersunds coach must take credit for the way they turned the tide against Sheffield United ten days ago. His side are versatile and they appear to have an almost-fully fit squad to choose from. They’ve been the epitome of a mixed bag at home this season, winning six of their 14 matches in South Wales but they’ve only drawn three times at the Liberty. With the exception of Ipswich, the majority of the sides to have taken three points back home are situated in and around the top ten and they will be confident of beating Garry Monk’s 13th-placed team here. Brum are winless in 2019 and haven’t tasted victory since Boxing Day but they’ve had a tough run of games. Away from home, they’ve won just four times so far although they sprung the occasional surprise such as winning at Elland Road and the Bet365 Stadium. I think Swansea’s possession game should test Birmingham’s centre-back pairing and the hosts can continue their fine run of form with three points here.

A home win is the first of our Swansea vs Birmingham predictions.

Swansea vs Birmingham Goals Betting Tips

Although the reverse fixture ended goalless earlier in the season, it wasn’t a dull or drab affair. The Friday night encounter produced a memorably one-sided encounter in which Birmingham has multiple chances to put the game to bed but failed to find a way past Erwin Mulder. It should be a pretty even contest this time around and we should see some goals. 57% of Swansea’s home games have seen Over 2.5 Goals land and it would have landed in four of the last six here at the Liberty. Birmingham’s games are usually fairly entertaining and eight of their matches have ended with four goals already this campaign. Over 2.5 Goals looks tremendous value at an odds-against price and it is the second of our Swansea vs Birmingham betting tips.

Swansea vs Birmingham Anytime Goalscorer Predictions

Oli McBurnie is in excellent form at the moment but this could be another chance for Bersant Celina to unleash something spectacular. The 22-year is a bit of an enigma but he is a match-winner and he was on target again in the FA Cup at the weekend. He’s only netted five times this season but four of those have arrived here in front of the Swansea fans and I think he can notch again. He’s scored three times since December 15th and it seems that he is starting to get more game-time of late.

Bersant Celina is the third of our Swansea vs Birmingham predictions for Tuesday night.

Swansea vs Birmingham Match Betting Preview

Swansea are still favourites for this clash although they have drifted slightly and are available at 23/20. The Swans have been inconsistent this season but they appear to be coming into a bit of form. Birmingham can be backed at 11/4 and a second successive draw between the pair can be found at 12/5.

The market can’t decide on the goals markets in this tie and Both Teams to Score? Yes and No can both be backed at 5/6. Each side has found the back of the net in two of their last three meetings.

Oliver McBurnie netted the first two goals against Gillingham and also converted the opener against Sheffield United. He is 9/2 to repeat the trick for the third successive game. The superb Che Adams has also been in good form recently and he’s available at 11/2 to net the opener whilst strike partner Lukas Jutkiewicz is 7/1 to break the deadlock.
