Millwall goal Charlton vs Millwall Betting Tips and Match Prediction

It’s a London derby at lunchtime on Saturday as Charlton take on Millwall and we have got free football betting tips for the match from The Valley.

The visitors finally got their first victory of the season on Tuesday, albeit surprisingly against Blackpool. That result buys Steve Lomas a little extra time and victory at the Valley will increase endearment amongst the Millwall faithful.

Chris Powell’s side have had mixed fortunes recently, a creditable away draw against Watford was followed by a defeat at Huddersfield, but back on home turf, the Addicks will be hoping to climb up the table. Yann Kermogant is a doubt and Powell will be hoping Simon Church or Marvin Sordell can step into the breach and provide some goals.

Steve Morison got off the mark midweek for the Lions, the former Norwich man will be hoping for more to follow. He is capable at Championship level but despite his performance, he will be vying with Scott McDonald, Andy Keogh and Martyn Woolford for a starting place.

I’m going to opt for the former to score anytime (Steve Morison to score anytime 5/2 Bet Victor).

The midweek goal will have done wonders for his confidence, even if he is restricted to the bench, Lomas may be tempted to throw him on in the second half to give the Charlton defence something to worry about.

Morison is a confidence player and one goal can often be followed in quick succession by another and I believe he can strike at the Valley.

I would back (both teams to score with Stan James at 5/6) as both sides appear susceptible at the back. I watched Charlton play Middlesbrough and they looked toothless up front but organized at the back and only an error from a striker in his own box caused them to concede, however since then, they let in 3 goals to Doncaster (before the match got called off), conceded against Leicester, Huddersfield and Watford. The visitors let a goal in against Blackpool, shipped 5 at home to Derby and even let Sheffield Wednesday put 2 past them, so the defending on show may not be the sturdiest.

I believe Steve Lomas is a decent manager and the performance against Blackpool was impressive, Charlton have been a mixed bag and have been difficult to predict so far this season. I would take a chance on (Millwall Draw No Bet at 5/6 with Ladbrokes) as I think the Lions will make the short trip home with at least a point, if not more.
