Cheltenham boast one of the best home records in the EFL, and they’re always tough to beat in front of their own fans. Very few sides leave the Jonny Rocks Stadium with anything to show for it, and despite picking up a point on the road at the weekend, the Robins will be delighted to return to the scene of their last victory. They were outplayed comprehensively by Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon, but still managed to hold firm, and claim a useful point on the road. Michael Duff’s side fell behind against Scunthorpe, but hit four second half goals to emerge victorious in their previous contest here, and the fans will be expecting another tubthumping display on Tuesday night. Luke Varney returned to the side following his suspension at the weekend, and he is always a threat whilst the likes of Ryan Broom and Charlie Raglan have both impressed this season.

Carlisle put in swashbuckling performance seven days ago as they beat Championship opposition in the EFL Cup, but despite plenty of optimism going into the game, they weren’t able to recreate that display against Mansfield on Saturday afternoon. Worryingly, the Cumbrians didn’t even get on the score-sheet, and they need to be much better this time around. Pressley’s men were the better side in that game, but they have to learn to be more decisive. They outshot the Stags 14-6, and won the XG battle, but it counts for nothing. They’ve now conceded five times in their last two matches, and they need to start tightening up at the back. Although they kept Barnsley off the score-sheet in the cup, they are yet to register a clean sheet in League Two.

It’s hard to ignore Cheltenham whenever they’re at home. Last season, they won ten times here, and lost just six times at the Jonny Rocks. Tranmere Rovers were the last side to win here back on January 12th, although Carlisle were one of the few sides to leave with all three points. Admittedly, that was very early in the campaign, before Mike Duff had chance to get his feet under the table. Carlisle could struggle in this game, and they might fail to cope with Cheltenham’s energy in the final third. We’re backing the home side at a decent price.

Carlisle played their part in a very entertaining game against Mansfield, and it’s hard to believe that Over 2.5 Goals didn’t land in that game. They will play decent attacking football, and may get on the score-sheet this time around. It’s odds-against for Over 2.5 Goals on Tuesday night, and that looks like a great price.
