Dundalk vs Riga Preview

The Irish Champions look set to win their domestic league again this season, but for now their attention has turned to the Champions League qualification process. They got so close to the group stages a few years ago before having to settle for a place in the Europa League groups, and now they face a difficult first round of qualifying against Latvian side Riga.

They won the Latvian title last season and could repeat that success this season as they currently sit top of the table. Last season they were eliminated from the Europa League by CSKA Moscow but they’ll fancy their chances against Dundalk across two legs. However, this first leg is where the Irish side need to take control.

Both of these sides come into this match in good form but especially Dundalk, who haven’t lost for 16 matches now.
