Spain vs Norway Predictions and Betting Tips: Euro 2020 Qualifying Preview

Valencia betting tips

Spain vs Norway predictions and betting tips for this Saturday’s Euro 2020 Qualifier on March 23rd with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

It’s been a less than productive few years for La Roja, but Luis Enrique appears to be slowly getting things back on track. The former Barcelona boss has named an experimental-looking squad, as he seeks to welcome in the next generation. His side have been drawn in a straightforward qualifying group, but despite this, Norway will not make it easy for them. Lars Lagerback sides are always tough to break down, and they could keep Spain at bay for large parts of this fixture. See our Spain vs Norway predictions below.

Spain vs Norway Preview

Spain still have tremendous quality in their squad, and they should win this game at a semi-canter, but Norway won’t make it easy for La Roja. Lars Lagerback’s side are a team who a continuously improving, and they managed to win three of their four Nations League games, albeit against lesser opposition. They’ll be reasonably confident of making it to Euro 2020, but they must keep things tight here. The former Iceland boss is always prepared, and his side will be dogmatic and tenacious, although there’s no lack of skill and flair in their squad. Kristoffer Ajer is back, and has been passed fit, whilst there is an abundance of strikers to choose from – Ola Kamara, Tarik Elyounoussi and Bjorn Johnsen to name three. La Roja’s XI will look vastly different to the one which started at the 2018 World Cup, with the likes of Koko, Isco and Saul Niguez all missing out on selection, whilst Dani Carvajal is still injured. Enrique has recalled Iker Muniain, and given Sergio Gomez, Sergio Canales and Jaime Mata surprise call-ups. On an individual basis, Spain have more talent, and they can rely upon the currently in-form Alvaro Morata and energetic Rodrigo. This game is being played at the Mestalla, which will undoubtedly help the latter, whilst Dani Parejo could get a start in the centre of the park. Spain are odds-on for this game, so we must unearth value elsewhere. La Roja to Win and Under 3.5 Goals is an attractive price of 21/20 and that could be the best way to play this opening Euro 2020 Qualifier. The hosts may have to be patient here, but that should pay off.

Spain vs Norway Corner Betting Tips

Norway are likely to see very little of the ball in this game. They will be forced to sit quite deep, and defend throughout this game. With ample possession, Spain usually garner plenty of corners, and they have 11 against Bosnia in a recent friendly. They managed 12 against England despite losing 3-2. I would expect Spain to deliver a fair few set pieces in this game, and there are plenty of options available for bettors when it comes to corners. William Hill have a number of #YourOdds options, which are extremely tempting and Spain to have Over 2 Corners in Each Half looks tempting at 13/8, and is the second of our Euro 2020 Qualifying predictions for Saturday night.

Spain vs Norway Anytime Goalscorer Predictions

He may be a shade of odds-on in this market, but Rodrigo Moreno looks like a sensible choice in the anytime goalscorer odds. The Valencia man is playing on home soil, and is always a handful for any defence. He netted in Spain’s 6-0 victory on home soil against Croatia, and he’s on nine goals for 2019 already. He may not have scored a couple of weeks, but he’ll be determined to end that barren run, and he should get plenty of opportunities here. Rodrigo to Score Anytime is the third of our Spain vs Norway predictions for Saturday evening at the Mestalla.

Spain vs Norway Match Betting Preview

Spain are long odds-on for this fixture, and they will be the staple of many accumulators. They can be backed at 2/11. The draw is a distinct possibility if Norway can thwart Spain’s attack throughout the 90 minutes, and it’s 7/1 to end all-square. The Scandinavian side are 18/1 to spring a surprise in Valencia.

Goals are expected in this game, and Over 2.5 Goals is available at 1/2 in this fixture. Those who fancy more goals, can take Over 3.5 Goals at 5/4, with Over 4.5 Goals available at 3/1. Norway don’t score many away goals, but punters will be rewarded at 5/4 if they notch in this one.

Alvaro Morata leads the way in the first goalscorer market, and the in-form Atletico man can be backed at 13/5. Rodrigo is our anytime goalscorer pick, and he can be backed at 14/5. Jaime Mata admitted that he surprised to receive a call-up, and if you think he will mark it with a goal, it’s 7/2.
