Arsenal CONFIRMED Line-up for the Europa League Final v Chelsea

Next Arsenal manager odds

Arsenal are in Baku for the Europa League final tonight and we have taken a look at their squad and picked the Arsenal predicted starting 11 for the match against Chelsea.

The big headline before the final is that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has not been allowed to travel to Azerbaijan for political reasons, so he will not be in the Arsenal line-up and gives Unai Emery another big decision to make. The Armenian hasn’t started all of Arsenal’s games this season but this does mean Mesut Ozil is certain to start and will be tasked with the creative responsibilities, with Aaron Ramsey also injured.

The biggest decision Unai Emery has to make tonight is whether to start Petr Cech in goal. The veteran and former Chelsea ‘keeper is retiring after this season and he hasn’t been first choice for Arsenal, but has played ahead of Leno in the Europa League. Emery has hinted that he will ‘do something special’ for him, so he could get the nod in goal.

Arsenal have been playing with three at the back in this competition and we expect that to continue tonight, with Monreal, Sokratis and Koscielny forming the back three.

Midfield

The two wing-backs in this formation are usually Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac and that should be the same in tonight’s Europa League final. This is the five that started against Valencia so there seems no reason to change that after winning comfortably to secure their place in the final.

The win-backs play high so the back three need defensive cover and it’ll be interesting to see how Emery deals with Eden Hazard against youngster Maitland-Niles tonight. It is likely that either Xhaka or Torreira will be asked to do a man marking job on the Belgium star, who is best odds 7/4 with Paddy Power to score in the match.

Mesut Ozil will play in the hole behind the front two and he needs to have a good night if Arsenal are to win the Europa League.

Strikers

Arsenal’s strongest suit is their attacking two and both Aubameyang and Lacazette have been instrumental in their journey to the final. Aubameyang is one of our Chelsea vs Arsenal predictions for tonight’s game and he’s 5/1 with Unibet to score first (£10 wins £60).
