Everton betting tips

Everton vs Manchester United predictions, betting tips and match preview for Sunday’s contest between two of the Premier League’s most inconsistent teams at present. The home side, plainly, have little to play for but Toffees fans will be hopeful of securing 7th place and being the ‘best of the rest’ outside the top six.

Everton vs Manchester United Prediction

The honeymoon period is now well and truly over for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United have won just two of their last seven in all competitions and were fortunate to beat West Ham last weekend.

Everton were on a three-win streak before losing away at relegated Fulham last time out.

Everton vs Manchester United Match Preview

The short trip to Goodison Park presents the wounded Manchester United players with a quick opportunity to put the midweek hammering from Barcelona to bed. The Red Devils were beaten 4-0 on aggregate by the Spanish champions and rarely troubled the Catalans at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night.

Their focus will now be on reeling in the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal as the battle for the other two Champions League spots goes down to the wire.

Everton, meanwhile, could have been going into this clash just one place below United in the league table but a surprise 2-0 defeat at Craven Cottage last weekend put paid to that. I do expect the Toffees to get something here, though, particularly as Marco Silva’s men beat Arsenal earlier in the month. You can get 8/11 on the home side avoiding defeat which will tempt many given that United haven’t beaten anyone convincingly for quite some time.

If there’s one man who has noticeably kicked on since Jose Mourinho left Old Trafford then you’d have to say it was World Cup winner Paul Pogba. The Frenchman was often isolated in midfield against Barcelona in midweek but has provided the goods more often than not in recent weeks.

His double last weekend was a good bet for the Unibet welcome bonus of 2020 – albeit scored from the penalty spot – provided his club with their first and only victory of the month so far. The former Juventus midfielder has scored 16 goals in all competitions up until this point, with the vast majority of those strikes coming under the stewardship of current boss Solskjaer.

Pogba is always worth a poke as an anytime goalscorer given that penalty taking responsibilities fall on his shoulders, so why not consider the 12/5 available on him to net against Everton on Sunday?

Everton vs Manchester United Score Prediction

It’s always difficult to predict how a match between two inconsistent sides may pan out and that’s certainly the case here. On their day, both Everton and United are capable of putting away the best in the division, as they’ve proved already, but an unexpected slip-up also never seems too far away.

I envisage quite an open game here given that neither team have much to lose, although United fans may not agree. It wasn’t long ago that Champions League qualification seemed a pipe dream but they’ve now got themselves into contention with a few games left to play.

It’s difficult to make a strong case for either side looking a definitive favourite, which suggests that a draw might be on the cards. A 2-2 thriller can be backed at 14/1 and is far from the worst bet you’ll see today given that neither of these two are known for their sturdiness at the back.
