Exeter v Liverpool predictions and football betting tips for Friday night’s FA Cup fixture where Liverpool’s injury hit squad will be looking to avoid an upset.
These sides last met in the third round back in 2011, however much has changed since then – in our Exeter v Liverpool preview we’ve picked out the best three bets.
Exeter are currently sitting 16th in the League Two after a string of poor results, the last win for The Grecians actually came in the second round against League One Port Vale. However, since that tie they have lost four league games on the bounce, including three at home. With four straight losses you would expect poor performances from all of the players, this is not the case. Exeter have mainly dominated in these games but have not been able to deliver in their own, or the oppositions 18-yard box.
Liverpool on the other hand are suffering another poor season in the Premier League currently sitting in eighth, a place they did not want to be. They have only won two of the last five and the style of football being watched at the moment is far from that Manchester City away performance that had everyone blown away. Liverpool seem able to put a performance together away from home, including Man City, Chelsea, Southampton and most recently Stoke. However, an injury crisis at Liverpool is far from deniable.
Liverpool are lacking firepower at the moment with Benteke the leading goal scorer on six goals and missing some easy one-on-ones in the last few games. Exeter have only managed to keep five clean sheets from 24 league games this season, a worrying stat for any team when a top division team is on the way. Even with Liverpool’s goal scoring problems I believe they will dominate the game from the start, the players will want an early goal to settle the nerves of the last few weeks. I believe Liverpool half time result is great value for my first football tip.
My first Exeter v Liverpool prediction is for Liverpool to be winning at half-time and the best odds for this first tip are 5/6 at Coral.

As mentioned I believe Liverpool have overall more ability to nick a few goals here, although they are still vulnerable in defence. Liverpool have no fit centre halfs and will be forced to play some of the younger academy players. Mingolet is known to be ‘a bit of a dodgy one’ and Exeter will try to counter this, whether it be a set piece or smash and grab I think they will be able to put one past Klopp’s men. BTTS is available at 17/20 with Ladbrokes but for those wanting a higher odds bet then BTTS & Liverpool win is available at 21/10 With William Hill.
My next Exeter v Liverpool betting tip is for both teams to score and Liverpool to win at the best odds of 21/10 with William Hill.

Liverpool are focusing on the Capital One Cup as this is a fantastic chance for silverware under Klopp’s first season in charge. With an away win at the Britannia, Liverpool will want to further progress in the FA Cup, but with many of the first team missing many may ask who will actually play in the Liverpool starting line-up vs Exeter City. Adam Lallana has featured heavily under Klopp so far and with Coutinho out through injury will he be forced to play a more creative role alongside Firmino? With Lallana having to be even more attacking and his only goals this season coming outside the Premier League I fancy him to score anytime if he is involved in the starting 11.
The final FA Cup betting tip for Exeter City v Liverpool is for Adam Lallana to score anytime and the best odds are 11/4 with Stan James, he’s as short as 6/5 with one bookies!
