Arsenal vs Watford predictions and betting tips for the FA Cup quarter final on Sunday 13th March including an anytime goalscorer tip.
Sunday sees Arsenal host Watford at the Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup quarter finals and I have three tips for this one.
Arsenal are looking to win this competition for the third season in a row. Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott fired the Gunners to victory in their replay against Hull, scoring a brace each, in a win that extended Arsenal's unbeaten FA Cup run to 17 games. They may not have been at their best in that game, 4-0 possibly flattered them, nevertheless it continues their impressive run in this competition and this trophy is arguably the best chance Arsene Wenger's men have of winning some silverware this season.
As for Watford, they had an impressive start to life in the Premier League but since the turn of the year their form has nosedived. They've won each of their FA Cup games this season by one goal to nil but haven't scored in their last three league games. They may not be scoring many of late but they're not conceding many either, they've only conceded five goals in their last six games. They haven't got a good record against the top sides, losing nine of their ten games against teams in the top six, but in the majority of those games they were unlucky to come away with nothing, losing seven of them by the odd goal. Arsenal head into this as clear favourites, but this will be a tough game for the Gunners.
Arsenal, as ever, have injury concerns. Laurent Koscielny is doubtful for this as is Aaron Ramsey. Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere are all still out, but Per Mertesacker and Gabriel could feature. Watford are hoping Craig Cathcart is fit to play after missing the 1-0 defeat to Leicester but Miguel Britos and Jose Manuel Jurado are out.
This game is a toughie to call for my FA Cup betting tips this weekend, Watford, despite their inability to hit the back of the net of late can cause any side problems on their day, and with Arsenal's best defender in Koscielny out they have a chance. I'm just edging towards a narrow home victory; it won't be a classic though. Arsenal are the only side to score more than two against the Hornets, a 3-0 win coming at Vicarage Road earlier on in the season, but I don't think this will be as comfortable. Watford played quite open that day, I think here they'll play more defensively but I think Arsenal to win by one sounds about right for my first Arsenal vs Watford prediction this weekend.
The best odds for Arsenal to win by one goal are 14/5 with Stan James.

Olivier Giroud is one of the most frustrating strikers in the Premier League. He can score wonder goals but miss from two yards out. He scores plenty against sides in the lower half of the table, or games in which Arsenal are easy favourites, but rarely does it against the harder sides. Still (just to contradict myself) I'm going for him for my anytime goalscorer tip on Arsenal v Watford. I think he'll start this one with Danny Welbeck probably rested with Barcelona and Everton coming up, and he'll get chances in this one. My second Arsenal vs Watford prediction is for Oliver Giroud to score anytime and the best odds for Giroud to score are 13/10 at Betfair.
For my final Arsenal vs Watford prediction, I'm going for a draw at half time and an Arsenal win at full time. Watford will keep it tight and frustrate the Gunners, but for me Arsenal will eventually break them down and do enough to win. Go for halftime/fulltime draw/Arsenal with Betfred, who are offering 14/5.
