Bolton v Leeds United Predictions and Betting Tips – FA Cup

Bolton Leeds predictions and football betting tips for this weekend’s FA Cup fourth round match including a correct score tip.

  • Fixture – Bolton v Leeds FA Cup
  • Kick-off time – 3pm Saturday 30th January

Two Championship clubs meet at the Macron Stadium as Bolton host Leeds in the FA Cup fourth round. Our football tipster has picked his best three betting tips for the fixture.

Bolton v Leeds Predictions

It’s been a season to forget for Bolton, but they have improved of late and they got a much needed victory over fellow strugglers MK Dons at the weekend. They are just a single point behind basket case Charlton in the Championship table and have Bristol City within their sights.

The FA Cup will be seen as a distraction for Neil Lennon’s side and resilient Leeds are the visitors with both sides hunting for a place in the 5th round of the competition.

The fans haven’t had much to cheer here, but Bolton have only lost twice in eight home matches and are becoming harder to beat on their own patch.

There have been various rumours about players exiting, but very few have left and that can be seen as a positive as he looks to find a seemingly impossible route out of the relegation zone.

These sides drew 1-1 when they met in October and it could be a similar story here. Leeds sit comfortably in mid-table and they must start turning draws into wins if they are to have any hope of finishing in the play-offs.

They have drawn four of their last seven matches and have won just once in those seven games. Their record away from home hasn’t been great recently with just one victory on the road since the start of November.

As with all FA Cup ties, it’s difficult to know what kind of sides both managers will send out. Chris Wood is unlikely to be fit for Leeds, but Alex Mowatt could return for this clash and the youngster loves to drive forward from midfield and has an eye for goal.

Shola Ameobi played his last game for Bolton on Saturday and signed off with a goal. He has apparently offered to play for free, but the transfer embargo prevents him from doing so. Bolton are set to appeal, but this won’t be sorted out in time for this game.

There are a lot of vultures circling around the Bolton players at the minute with Gary Madine another one being looked at by a number of clubs. The former Sheffield Wednesday is likely to get the nod in this one.

Who will win in Bolton v Leeds FA Cup fourth round?

Steve Evans said he would rather have played Eastleigh than Bolton and he may be correct in his assumption that the Trotters will make it difficult for the Elland Road side. I fancy this one to be scrappy and it may have to be settled with a replay.

My first weekend football tip for Bolton v Leeds is for the match to end a draw. The draw can be backed at 11/5 with Bet365.

Bolton v Leeds Score Prediction

I’m going to have a punt on a correct score. I fancy both sides to get on the scoresheet here. Leeds don’t lose often, just twice in 11 matches and I think they’ll be up for the battle here. Bolton have a decent home record and I can’t see them getting rolled over by the Whites. 1-1 looks a decent correct score bet. Three of Leeds’ last seven games have finished with this scoreline.

My second FA Cup prediction for Bolton v Leeds in the fourth round is for the correct score of 1-1. It can be backed at 6/1 with Bet Victor.

Goalscorer Betting Tip for Bolton v Leeds

If Alex Mowatt is in the side for Leeds, he’s worth a second look in the goalscorer market. However, a man who has hit form for Bolton at just the right time is midfielder Darren Pratley. If Bolton found themselves in League One, the former Swansea man could easily find employment in the Championship. He’s scored against Eastleigh and against MK Dons and I fancy him to bag another here.

My third Bolton v Leeds prediction is for Darren Pratley to score anytime. He can be backed at 6/1 with Betfred.
