Eastleigh vs Swindon Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview

Eastleigh vs Swindon betting tips and FA Cup predictions for this Friday night first round match live on BBC with the best odds for each selection from our tipster.

The BBC have chosen Eastleigh vs Swindon as their Friday night game on the FA Cup 1st Round weekend and they’re hoping for a shock as the National League side host the Robins. We’ve got the best three betting tips for the match.

A League One side travelling to a noisy non-league stadium is always a recipe for a potential upset and Swindon won’t be looking forward to their trip to Hampshire.

This is a GUARANTEED WINNER!

In the League the Robins have won just one of their last six games, which is a concern for Luke Williams and his coaching staff. It’s caused them to slip into the relegation zone and they’ve managed to pick up a solitary victory on the road all season. That away win came at Oldham, who have a dreadful home record and sit one point and one place below Swindon in the table. A lack of goals is a huge problem and they’ve netted just five times in six games. Three of them came in the same match and defender Nathan Thompson has netted two of them. John Goddard hasn’t performed badly since arriving from non-league, Jonathon Obika is still injured whilst summer signings Nathan Delfounso and Luke Norris haven’t found form.

Swindon are looking to avoid their 5th consecutive 1st round defeat in this competition.

Ronnie Moore is in charge of Eastleigh and his side haven’t had the ideal build up for this game with the former Hartlepool and Rotherham boss describing his side as ‘Powderpuff’ following their 4-0 hammering at Barrow. Not many sides pick up anything from the Furness peninsula, but it was a particularly weak performance.

At home, they’ve been decent, with only defeats to Dover and Dagenham so far, two sides above them in the table. The standard of the opposition is perhaps questionable with many of the conquered sides in the bottom half of the National League table. Eastleigh sit in 8th position and are hunting down a play-off spot. This will be interesting as they are likely to raise their game for the FA Cup and the added incentive of the TV cameras at the ground could give them an extra edge.

Eastleigh weren’t great at the back on Saturday, but perhaps they had one eye on this  FA Cup tie. They are usually effective up front and should be able to bag a couple of goals here so I’ve gone for a big odds correct score tip.

Jamie Cureton is still plying his trade in the National League and he scored in Eastleigh’s last home game. He’s got the big match experience and know-how and could play an integral part on Friday night. Back the former (Insert any Football League club here) man to strike during the 90 minutes for our final Eastleigh vs Swindon betting tip.

Eastleigh vs Swindon Team News

Ronnie Moore is likely to make changes from the 4-0 defeat at Barrow at the weekend. Ryan Cresswell was sent off in that game and will miss this tie. Ryan Bird has scored plenty of goals at home this season and will be hoping for a start. Mikhail Mandron came off the bench last weekend and he’ll be hoping to get the nod.

Michael Doughty made his long awaited return from injury on Saturday during Swindon’s 4-1 defeat to Scunthorpe. He is likely to start in this one. Jonathon Obika is unlikely to play any part. Lloyd Jones came off the bench at the weekend and will be pushing for a start.

Eastleigh vs Swindon Head to Head

These sides have met once in a friendly in 2014 with Eastleigh running out 2-0 winners here.

Eastleigh vs Swindon Betting Odds

There isn’t much to choose between these sides in the betting. Swindon are starting at 7/5 for an away win whilst Eastleigh are priced up at around 19/10. The draw will be popular and is around 13/5

Jonathon Obika and Mikhail Mandron lead the way in the goalscoring markets, but neither are certain to start.
