Norwich vs Portsmouth Predictions and Betting Tips: FA Cup Preview

Norwich betting tips

Norwich vs Portsmouth predictions and betting tips for this FA Cup match on Saturday evening with a goals prediction and anytime goalscorer included.

Expert Tipster Prediction: This fixture could be an absolute cracker with two sides firing on all cylinders at the moment. Portsmouth lead the way in League One and their away form has been a major part of their success so far this season. Kenny Jackett’s side are extremely well-organised and have been excellent away from Fratton Park. They also possess a number of talented players who should be able to hurt a leaky Norwich back-line. These two sides are both full of confidence and it’s difficult to predict a match result so stick with the goals markets in this one. Both Teams to Score lands with regularity in Norwich games and Portsmouth should have the firepower to make a real good go of this.

Norwich vs Portsmouth Predictions

Although the FA Cup is steeped in tradition, this is probably deemed as an unwelcome distraction for both sides. Each team is currently engineering a promotion push and they would prefer not to risk injuries and suspensions in this tie. Portsmouth are riding high in League One, winning nine of their thirteen away games and only failing to score twice on the road all season. They hit five past ten-man Fleetwood before professionally dispatching AFC Wimbledon last time out and they arrive here in good spirits. Although he’s been linked with a move away from the club, Jamal Lowe should play a big part here and is a real danger. Andy Cannon has joined the club this week from Rochdale and could be given a start here. Norwich have also been scoring freely recently but their defence has been causing them a few problems in recent weeks. There have been an average of 3.7 goals per match at Carrow Road so far this season with action at both ends and that trend should continue here. The Canaries have failed to find the net just twice here all season and they should be able to find a way past Craig MacGillivray here. Both Teams to Score? Yes looks to be the best bet in this game and is the first of our Norwich vs Portsmouth predictions.

Norwich vs Portsmouth Betting Tips

The second of our Norwich vs Portsmouth betting tips is another goals-based prediction. It’s been difficult to escape the fact that Norwich are very much a second-half side and there has been an astounding amount of goals in the final 15 minutes of games at Carrow Road. Farke’s men are exceptionally fit and will keep on going even if the tie looks to be over and they should be commended for this. There has been a second half goal in each of the last four Pompey away games and in each of the last six home/away. This one will not be decided by half-time and plenty of second half action is expected. Anyone who leaves East Anglia before the final whistle will regret it. Over 1.5 Second Half Goals continues to land in Norwich games and it looks a decent option in this FA Cup tie.

What is the best price for Over 1.5 Second Half Goals? 10/11 with 888Sport

Teemu Pukki has been in exceptional form of late but the Finn may be rested for this tie alongside some of his fellow first-teamers. Jordan Rhodes has been largely restricted to appearances from the bench but this may be his chance to shine. The striker has always been prolific in League One and he should get some opportunities against Pompey. The Scot may not have netted since November 10th but he’s already scored a hat-trick against League One opposition in the Carabao Cup this season. He should be able to add to his three goals against Wycombe Wanderers with another strike here. He could be given the nod by Farke although it’s always advised to check team news before placing goalscorer bets. He is the third of our Norwich vs Portsmouth predictions.

What is the best price on Jordan Rhodes to Score Anytime? 6/4 with Unibet

Norwich vs Portsmouth Match Preview

It’s not an easy fixture to call but Norwich have been chalked up as the favourites and are priced at 4/5 to progress to the next round of the competition. Pompey’s away form should not be underestimated and they can be backed at 15/4 to cause the upset. It’s also 14/5 to end all square and require a replay at Fratton Park.

Both managers may opt to rest players and make small changes to their XIs. That shouldn’t reduce the entertainment on offer here in East Anglia. Over 2.5 Goals is available at 3/4 which looks fairly generous. Over 3.5 Goals has landed many times for Norwich in recent weeks and that’s available at 7/4. Our prediction of Both Teams to Score will also be popular at 8/11.

Teemu Pukki tends to score late in games but he netted the first of the match last week and he’s 4/1 to repeat the trick here. Our pick, Jordan Rhodes is the second favourite and can be backed at 9/2, closely followed by Dennis Srbeny who is 11/2. For the visitors, Oliver Hawkins can be backed at 8/1 to break the deadlock.
