West Ham United v Manchester United betting tips and predictions for the FA Cup quarter final replay on Wednesday 13th April 2016 kick off time 7:00pm
West Ham United welcome Manchester United to the Boleyn Ground for their FA Cup quarter replay as both sides fight to face Everton at Wembley and our tipster has picked out the best betting tips.
A late Anthony Martial equaliser took this fixture to a replay when the teams met at Old Trafford a month ago, after another stunning free kick from Dimitri Payet looked like it had sent West Ham through to a Wembley Semi-Final. It was a tight game in Manchester, though the Hammers had the better of the chances, but Martial who has been one of the very few shining lights in a poor season for United struck late on to ensure his side still have some silverware to play for. This should be a close match too, but home advantage makes West Ham slight favourites for me.
Both sides are competing with Manchester City for fourth place in the Premier League table, with United in fifth and West Ham in sixth position. Since these two met last month, West Ham have drawn three consecutive games which has seen them lose pace slightly with their Champions League chasing rivals. Last time out they drew 3-3 at the Boleyn with Arsenal in one of the games of the season, an Andy Carroll hattrick seeing his side come from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 before Laurent Koscielny salvaged a point for the Gunners.
United had consecutive 1-0 victories in the Manchester derby and at home to Everton but second placed Tottenham put them to the sword on Sunday beating the Reds 3-0, and in truth it could have been more. Although United have a great defensive record this season, West Ham have scored plenty and this sets up what should be an exciting tie.
Slave Bilic is hoping Carroll is fit to start after his excursions at the weekend, but Diafra Sakho and Alex Song are extremely doubtful along with James Collins and Sam Byram. For United, Wayne Rooney made his comeback playing for the under 21’s on Monday but is unlikely to start, and Bastian Schweinsteiger is doubtful. Timothy Fosu-Mensah, one of the few United players to leave with any credit from the Spurs defeat, is hoping to shake off the knock that saw him subbed in that game to play some part in this one.
This will be a close game but I think it’s the home side who’ll be going to Wembley. The Spurs defeat showed that United’s defence can be got at and with the array of attacking talent the Hammers have these days coupled with home advantage it’s West Ham who’ll progress for me. My first West Ham v Man United betting tip for tonight is West Ham to win.
It will be a close game though; West Ham will do just enough to go through in normal time. Both sides will score, with the home side nicking the win. My second West Ham v Man Utd preiction is a correct score tip, go for West Ham to win 2-1. The best odds are again with Bet Victor who have the bet at 19/2.
For my final betting tip on tonight’s FA Cup quarter final replay, I think West Ham danger man Payet will get on the score sheet. Not only has he become known as somewhat of a free kick specialist, he’s a good finisher in open play too and at 37/13 with 888Sport he’s definitely worth a bet.
Bet 1: West Ham to win – 17/10 with Bet Victor.
Bet 2: Correct score West Ham 2-1 – 19/2 with Bet Victor.
