Halifax vs Chesterfield Predictions, Betting Tips, Odds and Preview

Halifax vs Chesterfield predictions and National League betting tips for Saturday evening’s fixture. Kick-off is 5:30pm on the 13th of October and our tipster has selected three recommended bets.

Halifax vs Chesterfield Predictions

Our National League betting tips come from the Shay as the BT cameras visit West Yorkshire for this televised teatime clash. When this fixture was originally selected for coverage, both sides would have been in much better form however as things stand, neither of these teams can buy a win. After a positive start, Halifax Town have slipped to 13th in the table and are without a victory since August 27th. They’ve struggle to keep sides off the scoresheet and arrive here off the back of shipping three at Aldershot. Chesterfield have also struggled in recent weeks with the Spirerites last picking up three points on August 11th. After three straight wins to start the season, it’s been a struggle and clean sheets have been scarce of late. They’ve had some poor luck with Injuries but their inability to beat the likes of Dover and Maidstone has left them languishing just above the relegation zone and looking over their shoulders. Another relegation would be unthinkable. Martin Allen remains in a job for now but he’s having trouble motivating his squad who could be missing Charlie Carter and Jerome Binnon-Williams for this tie. Halifax’s bad run looks like it will end at some point and they did recently hold AFC Fylde to a goalless draw here but their lack of firepower is a worry. They’ve scored just five times since the start of September and they’re struggling to finish sides off. They have drawn five of the last eight National League matches however and they could pick up another point here. The home fans will be hoping for a victory but they might have to settle for a stalemate. Chesterfield have also drawn plenty with four of their last six ending all-square and it’s difficult to separate these two woefully out-of-form outfits. Draw is available at 12/5 with Betway and is the first of our Halifax vs Chesterfield predictions.

Halifax vs Chesterfield Under/Overs Odds

We’ve spoken about Halifax’s lack of potency in the final third but it’s not all sweetness and light for Chesterfield either. They’ve netted just three times since August 18th but have netted in two of their last three matches coming into this encounter. At the back, things are a little brighter and they’ve not conceded more than single goal in any of their last four away games proving that Allen’s side can keep it relatively tight when they need to. Their games are averaging just two goals per game at the moment and they average exactly one strike per match on the road. Unless there are a number of defensive howlers here, it’s difficult to see this one being a goal-fest. Under 2.5 Goals is relatively short but looks worthy of investment and can be backed at 11/17 with Sport Pesa. It is the second of our Halifax vs Chesterfield predictions.

Halifax vs Chesterfield Anytime Goalscorer Odds

It’s slim pickings in the anytime goalscorer market due to each side’s lack of a regular goal threat however there’s a potential story brewing. Tom Denton was a hero for Halifax as he spearheaded their rise through the leagues but he now plays for the Spirerites and is still searching for his first goal for his current employers. Of course, there is always a danger that he tries too hard in this fixture but he will be desperate to get off the mark against his former employers in front of a crowd who once adored him. He’s 11/5 with William Hill in the anytime goalscorer market and is the third of our Halifax vs Chesterfield predictions.

Halifax vs Chesterfield Match Betting Preview

Halifax Win – 9/4

Chesterfield Win – 6/5

Draw – 23/10

Given that they are the away side, it’s somewhat surprising to see Chesterfield at such a short price here. They have the better squad and many will feel as though they should be picking up three points in this contest but it’s been far from plain sailing in recent weeks. They are 6/5 to win this game but could struggle to end their barren run. Our football tipster has opted for the draw at 23/10 and that will be a popular bet in this one however some punters may fancy Halifax to make home advantage count and they are priced at 9/4.

Sometimes, games can be hugely surprising but this clash isn’t expected to be laden with goals. Under 2.5 Goals is priced at 4/6 whilst it’s also a tempting 2/1 for Under 1.5 Goals to land in this contest. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 19/20 with Bet365 and this would only have landed in a third of Chesterfield’s games so far this campaign.

Marc Antoine Fortune has played at the higher level and came off the bench to score a couple of weeks ago. The big frontman is 11/2 favourite to open the scoring here ahead of Lee Shaw at 6/1 and Joshua Kayode who is 13/2. It’s telling that ‘no goalscorer’ in this game is fourth in the betting at 15/2.
