Huddersfield vs Fulham Betting Tips

Fulham are the favourites for this tie, and the visitors should be able to capitalise on Huddersfield’s woes. At the time of writing, Jan Siewert has vowed to keep fighting, but he may be out of a job if his side collapse in this one. The Cottagers made a far from ideal start to the campaign, but they look to be slowly getting back to their best, and they should be able to make it six points from nine. They are 8/5 with Coral to succeed, and that’s the first of our betting tips for Friday night.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is the favourite to score in this tie, but Bobby Reid could be the man to back. The deadline-day signing put in a typically busy appearance against Blackburn, and he will be keen to score his first goal in Fulham colours since making the move. He’s 21/10 with Betfair to score anytime in this one.

Huddersfield Town vs Fulham Preview

Huddersfield are struggling to adapt to life back in the Championship. All is not well in West Yorkshire, and the fans are beginning to call for the head of boss Jan Siewert. Since arriving at the club, he’s taken 0.35 points per game, and the Terriers have kept just one clean sheet in his 17 matches in charge. February 26th was the last time that they picked up three points, and many supporters booed the German boss as he walked down the tunnel on Tuesday night. Huddersfield were less than impressive against the Imps in the EFL Cup, although admittedly it was a much-changed XI. Both of the goals this season have come from the penalty spot with Karlan Grant dispatching them with consummate ease. They were fairly unlucky to concede a Tom Lawrence wondergoal against Derby, but they were second best against QPR last weekend. There is plenty of work to do, and Siewert must find a way to secure their leaky back-line. They have a poor record against the Cottagers, winning just one of their last 13 matches against the West Londoners, although that victory did come last season.

Fulham picked up their first victory of the campaign last weekend as they eased past Blackburn Rovers. Mowbray’s men started well, and the Cottagers had to keep things tight during the early stages. They managed to hold firm, and their defence currently looks far more assured than it did twelve months ago. They’ve now kept clean sheets in four of their last seven games, and Scott Parker’s men look well-drilled. At the other end, they also possess plenty of firepower, and Aleksandar Mitrovic is now off the mark for the campaign. The team rarely lose when the Serbian finds the net, and he’ll be hoping to double his tally in front of the TV cameras. They’ve won just one away game since September 2018, but the majority of those trips were to Premier League grounds. They’ve already been beaten in Yorkshire this campaign, but Huddersfield have a far softer centre than Barnsley, and Fulham are likely to create multiple chances in this game.
