Hull vs Blackburn Preview

Hull were one of the many sides being tipped for the drop this season, with both Jarred Bowen and Kamil Grosicki expected to depart Humberside this summer. However, the Tigers held onto both of their star assets, and they’ve taken four points from their opening three matches. They held a decent Brentford side to a 1-1 draw at the weekend, and were victorious in their only home tie so far. They were extremely strong at home last season, with very sides leaving the KCom with anything to show for it. They won 11 of their 23 matches here last year, and only lost on six occasions. Although they are no under different management, they should be able to continue that excellent form in front of their own fans. Grant McCann was a slightly left-field appointment, although his Doncaster side were also very effective in Yorkshire last year. They will fancy their chances against a Blackburn side who have been far from convincing so far.

Tony Mowbray’s side picked up their first victory of the season at the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough. The Teessider was delighted to get one over on his hometown club, and it was north-easterner Danny Graham who netted the winner from the spot. Rovers are always strong at Ewood, although they did also win at this ground last season. Blackburn lost around 50% of their away games last year, and conceded 48 of their 69 goals on their travels. They should improve as the season goes on, but I am yet to be convinced by Blackburn’s back-line. Derrick Williams and Darragh Lenihan have both looked shaky at times, whilst Elliott Bennett has already picked up two yellow cards in three games.

Hull vs Blackburn Betting Tips

The Humbersiders are yet to keep a clean sheet, but they do possess plenty going forward, and Jarred Bowen looks like he is slowly beginning to get over the disappointment of not getting a summer move. Blackburn could be tested by Bowen, Grosicki and the Tom Eaves. The latter has won over 50% of his ariel duels this season, and although he is yet to put the ball in the back of the net, he will make a complete nuisance of himself all evening. Hull at home are always a tough team to beat, and the Tigers are worth backing at 5/4 with bet365.

It’s no surprise to see the aforementioned Jarred Bowen at the top of the anytime goalscorer betting, and the Hereford-born player is worth backing. He’s netted twice so far, and averages four shots per game. He will surely find a way through here. He’s 19/10 with Betway to find the net here.
