Good Friday’s football betting tips and predictions for Ipswich v Bournemouth which you can watch live on Sky Sports, kicking-off at 5.15pm.
Good Friday throws up an enticing fixture list in the Championship as the promotion race goes right to the wire.
Any number of teams could still book their place in next season’s Premier League, but Bournemouth are in the enviable position of sitting top of the tree and they look good value for their 73 points.
Ipswich aren’t too far behind, the Suffolk side are only five points behind the leaders, but it is so tight that they only occupy 6th spot. It really is going to one of the most exciting season climaxes we’ve seen in recent years.
Bournemouth have not only performed well, they’ve entertained along the way as well, scoring 82 goals so far this season. They resoundingly thumped promotion rivals Middlesbrough 3-0 last time out and both sides should benefit here from some brief respite.
It’s difficult to pick these teams apart for our Ipswich v Bournemouth predictions, as Bournemouth have the best away form in the division and Ipswich have the 2nd best home form in the league. Both sides are quite similarly matched and appear to have emerged from their mid-season wobble.
But, I watched their 3-0 thumping of Middlesbrough and I can’t bet against Bournemouth here. Eddie Howe’s men would be unexpected champions as many fans would have been satisfied with mid-table obscurity, but they look set to smash those expectations to smithereens! They’ve won 10 of their 19 away games this season, losing just five and I fancy them to win this game.
Bet on Bournemouth to beat Ipswich for our first football tip on Friday at 29/20 with Ladbrokes.
Ipswich sprung a surprise last time out by beating goal hungry Watford 1-0 at Vicarage Road. They must have done something right defensively that day as it takes something special to keep Troy Deeney and co from scoring. I think they will be able to frustrate The Cherries for long periods of the game and stop them from clicking into their usual attacking gears. Christophe Berra, fresh from scoring for Scotland, Tommy Smith, Luke Chambers and Tyrone Mings are a very decent back four and the fact they’ve only conceded 13 goals in 19 home games tells its own story.
One possibility may to back Bournemouth 1-0 and 2-0 correct scorelines, but Ladbrokes offer 11/13 about Under 2.5 goals and although Bournemouth are involved in very few of these, Ipswich have had 21 games go unders this season.
Our tipster’s next Ipswich v Bournemouth betting tip is for under 2.5 goals at odds of 11/13 at Ladbrokes.
Kenwyne Jones signed on loan last week and he is always a nuisance when deployed correctly. The former Sunderland man struggles to settle anywhere, but can be very effective and had a goalscoring spurt at the start of the season for Cardiff. Callum Wilson looks set to be out injured for the Easter fixtures so Jones may be in for a starting place. If he can’t dislodge Brett Pitman and Yann Kermogant, he will certainly come off the bench and could ruffle a few Ipswich feathers with his strength and power.
