Group B's top two teams go head to head on Saturday evening with Israel hosting Wales at the Haifa International Stadium. The match is live on Sky Sports at 5pm and here are some free football betting tips.
With three straight wins, Israel are the surprise leaders at the top Group B. No mean feat when you consider this is a group they share with the likes of Bosnia, Belgium and their opponents tomorrow, Wales.
Despite an unremarkable opening win against Cyprus, Israel looked far more dangerous in their comfortable victory over Andorra a match later. However, it was their 3-0 home win over top seeds Bosnia last time out that has really set the cat amongst the pigeons in what's shaping up to be a very tight group. With a game in hand – albeit at home to Belgium – a win on Saturday would be a huge step towards qualifying for Euro 2016.
For Wales, though, this is certainly unchartered territory. For the first time in many a year, the Welsh have a genuine chance of qualifying for a major tournament. Chris Coleman's men have picked up eight points so far with a couple of wins and draws apiece, and although these have been far from convincing, their 0-0 draw with Belgium last time out could prove to be a valuable point in the grand scheme of things.
Heading into their clash against Israel, and from a Welsh perspective, they have to pick up something from the game. Looking at the group as a whole, one would have to say Belgium are clear favourites and Bosnia have probably left themselves too much to do after a poor start. Potentially, this leaves one place between two teams. A victory for Israel would see Wales four points behind, with one or both of their rivals guaranteed to pick up points with the game in hand. A Welsh win, though, is huge, and would give them a terrific opportunity to qualify for their first major competition since 1958.
Odds for the Israel v Wales match have Israel as clear favourites which certainly reflects their form and home advantage. Wales can be backed at a best price of 14/5, with the draw on offer at 23/10.
As previously mentioned, Wales don't even want to comprehend a defeat, so I can't see them trying to blow their opponents away early on. I would expect them to contain and frustrate their hosts and look to hit them of the counter attack. With the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, the Welsh are always going to create chances, the key will be how they defend. If this were a friendly, I would be predicting Israel will win. However, considering the enormity of the match in the eyes of the Welsh, I can see them nicking a point.
Therefore, the first two Israel v Wales betting tips are to back the draw outright at 23/10 with Betfred and under 2.5 goals at 8/13 with Bet Victor.
Moving over to the goalscoring market, and to arguably Israel's star player Eran Zahavi. The 27 year old forward currently plies his trade with Maccabi Tel Aviv where he is in outstanding form this season. Zahavi averages exactly a goal a game for the Israeli champions and has scored in his last ten matches in a row as well as in the 3-0 win over Bosnia last time out. Granted this is like bragging to your Mrs about scoring a hat-trick at 5 aside, but it's clear Zahavi knows where the goal is nevertheless.
At very generous odds of 18/5 with Bet Victor, back the Israeli striker to score anytime for our tipsters last bet on the clash.
