Israel vs Italy Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview
Israel vs Italy predictions and football betting tips for Monday night’s World Cup 2018 qualifying match with the best odds for each selection.
The opening games of the World Cup qualification get underway and Italy’s first game will be away to Israel at the Sammy Ofer Stadium, kicking off at 7:45pm on Monday 5th September.
Israel vs Italy Preview
Israel didn’t participate in the European Championships this summer without a win in exactly a year, it’s not too hard to see why. Since the 4-0 win over Andorra exactly this weekend last year, they’ve taken four defeats and a draw. With Italy and Spain in the group it will be interesting to see if they can come close to qualification this time.
Putting Spain aside, Italy must fancy some success in this group with teams such as Liechtenstein, Macedonia and Albania. They are going to need to put their patchy form behind them and start showing some consistency after just two wins in their last five games overall.
Israel vs Italy Predictions
A good start to the group is important to Italy as they take on Spain next and they won’t want to put too much pressure on themselves for that one as they are starting to look like their old selves again. I think despite being away Italy should win this one after a good European Championships this summer and the bad form will continue for Israel.
My first football prediction for this one is going to be Italy to win. Due to them being away the odds are quite good considering the difference of quality between the two sides. The best odds for this are currently 7/10 with Betfred.
Despite Pelle’s ‘disappointing’ move to China after he had a good tournament, he still found the net against France in the friendly a couple of days ago and I think that he will be able to lead Italy from the front once again with his and Eder’s partnership looking quite promising. A real shame it’s happened so late with Pelle now being 32-years-old. My second Israel vs Italy betting tip is going to be Pelle to score first. He’s the favourite to score first with most bookies and with his strike rate being better than Eder’s its clear to see why. The best odds for this are currently 4/1 with Bet365.
Despite conceding three against France, Italy shouldn’t be as threatened by Israel as there is a gulf in class when comparing France to the home side, and in all fairness it was a friendly. However, I do think Italy will be able to keep it tight at the back against Israel with a clean sheet. The reason for this is because of how good that Italy back line is with Bonucci, Barzagli and Chiellini.
My third and final Israel vs Italy prediction is going to be Italy to win to nil. I don’t think this would shock many if it landed but it does seem much better value than just a win especially when looking at the defence. The best odds for this are currently 29/20 with Bet Victor.
