Burton vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

Our Carabao Cup predictions for Tuesday night come from the Pirelli Stadium. Nigel Clough will have his League One side up for this and they will be confident of springing a second successive upset in this competition. As a former Forest player, there is far more at stake than just a place in the next round. Dubbed “the Clough derby”, this game should prove to be an entertaining watch for the neutrals and I’m fully expecting a strongest possible Burton XI. The Brewers were desperately unlucky not to take anything from their match here with away-day specialists Peterborough at the weekend and the former Derby boss will be looking for a response from his players. They battled admirably and had all of the play in the final 20 minutes with the likes of Liam Boyce (who was moved to the left) and loanees Devante Cole and Jake Hesketh causing problems for Posh. They’ve already beaten Aston Villa in this competition and they dispatched of two Championship sides last year. Forest come off the back of a 1-1 draw with Leeds at the weekend and they are likely to still be seething from the injustice of Kemar Roofe’s late equaliser. Aitor Karanka’s side have already beaten Newcastle in this competition but the Spaniard is likely to make changes for this and that could disrupt the rhythm. Clough has not lost any of his last eight games in this cup to non-Premier League sides and he clearly treats the Carabao Cup with utmost importance. I think the Brewers could get something from this tie and take their opponents to extra time. Burton Draw No Bet is available at 5/4 with Paddy Power and it is the first of our Burton vs Nottingham Forest predictions.

Burton vs Nottingham Forest Both Teams to Score Odds

After a slow start to the season in which Nigel Clough has to contend with numerous injuries, Burton have suddenly found their shooting boots and they’ve netted six in their last three games. It could have been more against Peterborough. Unfortunately, clean sheets are hard to come by and they were far too easily caught out by Posh’s counter attack which led to Siriki Dembele’s goal. It’s just one clean sheet in six for the hosts and it’s hard to see them keeping a lively Forest side off the score-sheet. Karanka has a number of options at his disposal and they should find a way through. Both Teams to Score? Is available at 3/4 with Betway and it’s the second of our Burton vs Nottingham Forest predictions for Tuesday night.

Burton vs Nottingham Forest Anytime Goalscorer Odds

The anytime goalscorer market can be a minefield in the Carabao Cup and Forest are the likelier of the two sides to make changes for this one. Daryl Murphy hasn’t had too many opportunities recently with the good form of Lewis Grabban. The 35-year old hasn’t featured in the league since October 6th but he’s featured in all three EFL Cup games this season and he is the kind of player who relish the opportunity to get on the pitch and prove his worth to Aitor Karanka. The Waterford-born finisher is still a hugely useful asset and could be the best way of approaching this market. Daryl Murphy is priced at 9/5 with 888Sport to score anytime and he is the third of our Burton vs Nottingham Forest predictions.

Burton vs Nottingham Forest Match Betting Preview

Nottingham Forest Win – 5/4

Burton Win – 5/2

Draw – 12/5

[global_advert id=”37941″]

Understandably, Nottingham Forest start as 5/4 favourites for this particular tie and Karanka does possess a decent record in this competition. Although they’ve seen off Premier League Newcastle, this could be arguably tougher for the Tricky Trees. They’ve lost just twice this season and will be confident of avoiding defeat in this one. The draw could be a decent option at 12/5. Burton are available at 5/2 which illustrates their danger. The bookies are keeping them on-side for this one with the Brewers having already dispatched of Aston Villa.

TV viewers will be hoping for an entertaining 90 minutes and there should be goals for both sides in this one. Over 2.5 Goals is available at Evens. Burton have scored and conceded in two of their three games in the Carabao Cup so far. There have been 11 goals in Forest’s first three matches in this competition and those who are feeling ambitious may also want to consider the 12/5 available on Over 3.5 Goals.

Lewis Grabban has been in excellent form this season but he isn’t guaranteed to start this one. The striker is the 4/1 favourite to score the first goal of the game. Northern Irishman Liam Boyce is the 5/1 second favourite in this market and he is likely to be on penalty duty for the hosts. Our anytime goalscorer tip, Daryl Murphy is 11/2 to break the deadlock in this one.
