Fleetwood vs Walsall Predictions

Our League One predictions come from Highbury with Fleetwood taking on Walsall in the televised tie. Joey Barton’s side have been in relatively poor form recently but they’ll be relieved to back in the North West. They were surprisingly swept aside by Gillingham, a side who can be brilliant on their day but also one who can also be hugely frustrating at times. The Cod Army have also lost to Portsmouth and Peterborough but there is little shame in losing to the high-flying duo and they only conceded a single goal in each of those two clashes. In-between, they beat Fylde Coast rivals Blackpool 3-2 here and they were excellent going forward in that game and if they can replicate that performance, they should take all three points here. Walsall have also been poor in recent weeks although they did pick up a victory in the FA Cup against Coventry. The Saddlers have been desperately short of goals in recent weeks and Dean Keates will have been relieved to see his side hit three at the Bescott last weekend. They’ve conceded 12 in 5 and they need to tighten up for this encounter although they’ve been better on the road this campaign. They’ve suffered disappointing defeats to Charlton and Burton recently and that doesn’t bode well for this game. Fleetwood have scored nine times in six games and should be able to take advantage of Walsall’s generous defending and they are likely to edge this battle of two out-of-form sides. Fleetwood to Win looks like a good bet in this televised clash.

Fleetwood to Win can be backed at 23/20 with Betfred and is the first of our Fleetwood vs Walsall predictions for Saturday.

Fleetwood vs Walsall Under/Over Prediction

Fleetwood games have been relatively high-scoring this season with an average of 3 goals per game for Joey Barton’s men. They do have goals in their side with the creativity of Ashley Hunter and the decisive finishing of Paddy Madden and Ched Evans. Summer signing Ross Wallace could also play a significant part as the season progresses. They should be able to test this Walsall defence. The Saddlers netted three times in the FA Cup and will ask questions of Fleetwood. The hosts are yet to keep a clean-sheet at home and this could be a decent game. Neither team is playing with confidence and that could lead to a relatively open match. The money is coming in for Under 2.5 Goals but I’m going against the market on this one. Although neither side enters this fixture in good form, this should be a decent spectacle.

Over 2.5 Goals is available at 27/25 with 888Sport and is the second of our Fleetwood vs Walsall predictions.

Fleetwood vs Walsall Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tip

Both Paddy Madden and Wes Burns have scored in each of Fleetwood’s last two home games but it’s the former Scunthorpe man who is our choice in the anytime goalscorer market. Madden has now found the net in three of the last four matches at Highbury and also netted twice in the FA Cup victory last weekend. He’s been an excellent addition and he is likely to get plenty of chances here. The Cod Army create plenty of opportunities and Madden should be afforded plenty of space. The 28-year old is searching for his ninth goal of the campaign.

Paddy Madden – Anytime Goalscorer is the third of our Fleetwood vs Walsall predictions and is 21/10 with Betfair.

Fleetwood vs Walsall Match Betting Preview

Fleetwood start as the favourites for this match and they are in slightly better form than their opponents. At the beginning of the campaign, Fleetwood were better on the road but they’ve won their last two home games and got a morale boosting win in the FA Cup as well. They can be backed at 11/10 and are being backed by our tipster. Walsall are struggling after a very positive start. Dean Keates must ensure his side don’t completely drop out of the play-off picture and they are slightly better on the road. They beat Bristol Rovers, Oxford and AFC Wimbledon on their travels earlier this campaign and many will be tempted by the 11/4 on them. The draw is available at 5/2.

Fleetwood’s lack of home clean sheet has left Joey Barton scratching his head. He has a number of experienced defenders in his squad but he can’t seem to find the best combination. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 10/11. One of our betting tips is Over 2.5 Goals and it’s available at 11/10. The market is favouring Under 2.5 Goals and that’s priced at 7/10.

Ched Evans is the favourite in the goalscorer market and can be backed at 5/1 to net the opener. He is followed by team-mate Paddy Madden. He is 11/2 to break the deadlock in this clash and has been in excellent form. Andy Cook is the Saddler’s main threat and he is priced at 6/1 to score first in this lunchtime clash.
