Blackpool finally got back to winning ways in midweek as they squeezed past lowly Bolton at Bloomfield Road. The Seasiders were far from vintage in the second half, and were a little lucky to have nicked it late on. They are yet to appoint Simon Grayson’s successor despite making an approach for Karl Robinson this week.
Blackpool’s only two victories since December 7th have come against sides in the bottom three, and they’ve been by a single goal margin.
Ipswich have dropped out of the play-offs, but Paul Lambert’s side can put themselves back into the mix with three points here. They have failed to score in three of their last four games, however, they stuck four past Burton on Feb 15th. With Kayden Jackson out, they may lack a little firepower in this one and backing them on the Draw No Bet, may just be a safer option.
Betting tip for Blackpool vs Ipswich – Ipswich DNB – 4/5
What score will Blackpool vs Ipswich be? 0-1 – 13/2
Tranmere picked up a morale boosting victory in midweek as they managed to edge past Shrewsbury at the Montgomery Waters. They surrendered a 2-0 lead, but broke quickly in the dying embers of the game to nick an important three points. The three points keep Mickey Mellon’s side in contention for survival, and they have closed the gap on AFC Wimbledon.
Despite this victory, their overall form is very poor, and they haven’t scored a home goal since Jan 18th. They’ve played eight sides in the top half, and they’ve collected just two points against high-flying opposition.
Fleetwood are on one of the longest unbeaten sequences in the EFL and Joey Barton will be keen for his side to get back to winning ways after dropping points against Sunderland on Tuesday. It was a late Max Power equaliser that denied them the victory, and they will be keen to keep their play-off campaign alive at Prenton Park.
Fleetwood have suffered just a single defeat since Dec 7th and are expected to triumph.
Betting tip for Tranmere vs Fleetwood – Fleetwood Win – 10/11
What score will Tranmere vs Fleetwood be? 0-2 – 15/2
Rotherham continue to lead the way in League One, and although the Millers weren’t able to collect maximum points in midweek, they did manage to prevent promotion rivals Coventry from usurping them at the top of the table.
They’ve won five of their last six home matches and although they could only draw 2-2 with AFC Wimbledon last time out, they’ll fancy their chances of winning this one. With Freddie Ladapo in excellent form, they will be expected to test and MK Dons defence which isn’t as sturdy on the road. The Millers are slightly better on the road, however, they should still have enough to win this.
The Dons have been better since Russell Martin arrived at the club, although the former defender is yet to guide his side to an away win. They have scored in four of their last five on the road, and they should play their part in an entertaining fixture.
Betting tip for Rotherham vs MK Dons – Rotherham Win – 52/100
What score will Rotherham vs MK Dons be? 2-1 – 7/1
Oxford have a 10-3-3 record at the Kassam this season, and Karl Robinson’s side will be expected to collect maximum points in this one. They remain on the fringes of the play-offs, however, they appear to be coming back into form. Their defence has been a major part of their success this year, and they’ve managed to keep 15 clean sheets so far. They’ve also managed to keep the opposition off the scoresheet in each of their last three games.
Oxford have dropped just a single point at home to sides in the bottom half, and they haven’t lost to a side below 11th at the Kassam.
Southend are having a season to forget, and it’ll take a gargantuan effort to stay in League One this year. Sol Campbell’s side have lost each of their last five matches and have suffered three consecutive defeats on the road.
Betting tip for Oxford vs Southend – Oxford Win – 24/100
What score will Oxford vs Southend be? 3-0 – 13/2
The Gills are unbeaten in 15 league One games this season, and although Steve Evans are unlikely to gatecrash the top six, they are on a terrific run of form, and it bodes well for next season.
They are incredibly tough to beat, and although draws were holding them back, they’ve now won three of the last four and have kept back-to-back clean sheets. They’ve conceded just nine goals in their last 15 and will be fancied to collect maximum points here.
AFC Wimbledon are worryingly close to the drop-zone and they are without a win since January 18th. Glyn Hodges started well, but he’s got to galvanise his side over the coming weeks. They’ve conceded 11 goals in their last four away games, and they are unlikely to keep the hosts off the scoresheet here.
Betting tip for Gills vs AFC Wimbledon – Gillingham Win – 52/100
What score will Gills vs AFC Wimbledon be? 1-0 – 9/2
Ben Garner has managed just a single win since taking over from Graham Coughlan, and that came against out-of-form Blackpool. They’ve unbeaten in four of their last seven and have a decent record against fellow bottom half opposition. They have struggled to keep clean sheets, and have managed just a single shutout in their last six.
Shrewsbury are also struggling for form, and the fans were not happy with manager Sam Ricketts following Tuesday’s 3-2 to Tranmere. Away from home, they’ve been poor, and have a 3-6-7 record on their travels. they’ve also failed to score an away goal in each of their last three away matches.
Neither of these teams are playing with confidence and this could end all-square.
Betting tip for Bristol Rovers vs Shrewsbury – Draw – 23/10
