Saturday League One Tips
- Peterborough vs Blackpool
- Doncaster vs Sunderland
- Gillingham vs Charlton
- MK Dons vs Hull
- Fleetwood vs Plymouth Argyle
Peterborough v Blackpool
Prediction: Peterborough to score over 1.5 goals
League leaders Peterborough fell to a shock 2-0 away defeat to newly-promoted Crewe last weekend, the Posh faithful will be happy their side are returning to home soil this Saturday where they have endured a good time. In the 5 home games played this season Peterborough have won 4 and drawn 1 and are averaging 2.8 goals per game at the Weston Homes stadium.
Blackpool will be traveling to Peterborough full of confidence they have won 5 out of their last 6 games in all competitions. This should be quite an open game with chances at both ends, with Peterborough’s impressive home record expect them to bag a couple of goals and keep up their impressive average at home.
Doncaster v Sunderland
Prediction: Doncaster or Draw
Docaster welcome under fire Phil Parkinson’s Sunderland to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday and will hope to rectify their inconsistent form which has led them to 11th in the standings. Phil Parkinson is under serious pressure after 3 straight defeats in all competitions, as well the results his style of play has come into big questioning in recent weeks.
This will be a tough test for the Black Cats, Doncaster have won 3 out of 5 home games and are tough to beat on their own patch expect them to pile on more misery on Sunderland and seal Phil Parkinson’s fate as gaffer of Sunderland.
Gillingham v Charlton
Prediction: Charlton to Win
Despite picking up 3 points in their last game, Gillingham’s form of late has been poor overall, they have lost 4 out of their last 5 games which has seen them fall to 16th place. By assessing their start to the season, freshly relegated Charlton seem determined to make an immediate return to the Championship, they have won an impressive 6 straight league games and currently sit 4th in the table with a game in hand.
Expect Charlton to have too much quality for Gillingham here and collect all 3 points in this clash.
MK Dons v Hull City
Prediction: Under 2.5 goals
Mk Dons picked up a fantastic 2-1 away win at promotion favourites Sunderland last weekend and face another tough contest against 2nd placed Hull City on Saturday.
Hull City come into this game off 4 straight wins in all competitions and are really looking strong at the moment, they have the second-best defensive record in the league and will look to continue this on Saturday. Mk Dons have shown great resilience of late, they are unbeaten in 4 straight league outings so expect this to be an cagey affair with under 2.5 goals.
MK Dons picked up a great win at Sunderland in their match last weekend.
Fleetwood v Plymouth Argyle
Prediction: Fleetwood to Win and Over 2.5 goals
Both these sides come into this game in good form, making it destined for a lively encounter. Fleetwood have picked up 5 wins out of their last 7 games whilst Plymouth are unbeaten in 6 straight games picking up 4 wins in the process.
That being said most of Plymouth’s good work comes at home, whereas away from home they have been struggling for any sort of rhythm.
Out of the 4 away games played so far they have lost 2 and drawn 2 whilst Fleetwood have been impressive at home; winning 4 out of 6 games played at the Highbury Stadium.
