Bury vs Lincoln Predictions and Betting Tips: League Two Preview

Bury vs Lincoln predictions and betting tips for this televised League Two fixture on Saturday 26th January with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

This looks set to be a high-quality top-of-the-table League Two encounter and will be live on Sky Sports. Bury have been free-scoring of late and although they were lucky against Forest Green last weekend, they are formidable at Gigg Lane. Lincoln still look like realistic promotion contenders and they were midweek winners but they’ve not been as effective of late. They’ve added to their squad this week and that strength-in-depth should help them get through this busy period. Can they shock the Shakers in front of their own fans? See our Bury vs Lincoln predictions below.

Bury vs Lincoln Predictions

There is likely to be so much talent on show on Saturday night with both sides possessing extremely capable squads for this level and I’m always impressed with Bury’s midfield. Neil Danns provides the experience but it’s the effectiveness of Jay O’Shea and quality of Danny Mayor that shine through and they should be able to provide plenty of individual moments in this game. The Shakers have now scored ten goals in their last four League Two matches and they also hit five in the EFL Trophy in midweek. Lincoln won’t make this straightforward for their hosts but Ryan Lowe’s side did overcome MK Dons a fortnight ago, netting four times against Paul Tisdale’s previously resolute outfit.

The Imps have kept just two clean sheets in nine away games and with Jason Shackell still absent for this game, I expect them to concede here. Bury have scored 2+ goals at home ten times this season and in each of their last four and with a price of 11/10 available, it’s definitely worth backing that pattern to continue here. Bury to Score Over 1.5 Team Goals is the first of our Bury vs Lincoln predictions for Saturday night.

Bury vs Lincoln Anytime Goalscorer Tips

There are a number of players who are likely to find the back of the net in this game and Bury possess several goalscorers in their side. It’s hard to ignore the threat offered by Nicky Maynard, whose experience has helped him flourish in the fourth tier. The striker is a very classy finisher and seven of his twelve goals have arrived at Gigg Lane this season. Remarkably, he didn’t score against MK Dons two weekends ago but he did add to his tally at the New Lawn last weekend.

Maynard is always a threat and he will get plenty of service throughout this game. He is the second of our Bury vs Lincoln predictions for this weekend’s League Two game.

Bury vs Lincoln Under/Over Predictions

It ended 2-1 when these two sides met earlier in the campaign and we could see a similar outcome here. Bury have been decent at the back and they’ve added former Lincoln defender Scott Wharton this week but they may struggle to stop the Lincoln attack.

64% of Bury’s home matches have featured three or more goals this season and they’ve only failed to score on one occasion. Whilst Lincoln’s performances away haven’t been as sparkling and entertaining, 50% of their matches on the road have landed Over 2.5 Goals and I expect this game to feature plenty of chances.

Over 2.5 Goals is the third of our Bury vs Lincoln betting tips for Saturday night.

Bury vs Lincoln Betting Preview

As the home side, Bury understandably start as favourites and they can be backed at 11/10 for this game. Lincoln are always a threat and they are priced at 23/10. A draw would keep equilibrium at the top of the table and can be backed at 5/2.

Nicky Maynard is the 4/1 favourite to break the deadlock here whilst team-mate Dom Telford is available at 6/1. Byron Moore has been extremely enterprising for the hosts recently and he’s 8/1 to open the scoring.

Lincoln’s John Akinde is always an aerial threat and he is available at 11/2. Matt Rhead is a handful and he’s priced at 15/2. Shay McCartan has scored some excellent goals recently and he is 17/2 to net the opener.
