Leeds vs Norwich Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Leeds vs Norwich betting tips and predictions for tonight’s all Championship EFL Cup fixture with the best odds for each bet selected by our football tipster.

It’s an all-Championship affair in the EFL Cup round of 16 as Leeds welcome Norwich to Elland Road. We’ve got the best three bets for the match.

Leeds picked up a terrific win against Wolves at the weekend. True, Wolves have been inconsistent under Walter Zenga, particularly at Molineux, but it was a brilliant away win and a fine way to bounce back from a disappointing week. After losing to Derby and conceding a late goal to Wigan in midweek Garry Monk’s men needed a positive result and they got it. They are immediately back in action as they host fellow Championship side Norwich in the EFL Cup where a place in the Quarter Finals is the prize for one of these sides. Since the arrival of Pontus Janssen, Leeds have been pretty solid and looked safer at the back. They are still looking for the right combination in the final third, but Leeds fans will be pleased to see summer signing Kemar Roofe net his first goal in the league. They beat Fleetwood and Blackburn on the way to this stage, but hosting high flying Norwich will be tough. The Canaries have hit a bit of turbulence recently after starting the season in flying form. Alex Neil’s side could only draw with Fulham, blowing a 2-0 lead before losing to Preston at the weekend. Ivo Pinto’s absence at the back has been felt by the men from Norfolk, but they need to find their goalscoring touch. They haven’t scored a goal from open play in the last two games. They did spring a surprise on Premier League Everton in the last round though and will be dangerous here.

Leeds vs Norwich Betting Predictions

A draw is probably the best way to play this one for our match result Leeds vs Norwich betting tip tonight. These sides seem quite evenly matched and there will be changes made in both camps. Penalties could be required to separate them.

Both Teams to Score Tips

Both these sides have goals in them and the change in personnel could freshen things up. Norwich tend to score away from home, only failing to net against Birmingham so far this season. Three of Leeds’ last five home games have seen both teams finding the net so both teams to score is my second Leeds vs Norwich prediction.

Leeds vs Norwich Team News

Liam Bridcutt continues his absence for the home side and is joined on the sidelines by Northern Irishman Stuart Dallas. Gaetano Berardi is also absent for this. Marcus Antonsson could be in for start here whilst Alex Mowatt and Liam Cooper both played in the previous round and could be pushing for a start.

Jonny Howson won’t be playing against his former club as he has undergone an operation and will be absent for the foreseeable future. Neil has hinted he will pick a fairly strong side, but will be without Ivo Pinto for this one. Steven Naismith and Jacob Murphy scored against Everton in the previous round and should both get starts.

Leeds vs Norwich Head to Head

These two sides haven’t met this season yet. Norwich came and won here in April 2015 with goals from Jonny Howson and Graham Dorrans securing the victory. The Canaries also missed a penalty in that meeting. Prior to that, they’d played out three draws. Two of those ended 1-1.

Leeds vs Norwich Betting Odds

We fancy the draw in this one and it’s landed in three of the last four meetings. It can be backed at around 5/2. Norwich are around 13/5 with most firms whilst Leeds can be backed for a home win at 15/8. Cameron Jerome & Chris Wood leads the way in the goalscorer market with the former around 6/1 for first goalscorer.
