Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips and Predictions

Leeds United betting tips

Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday betting tips, predictions and match preview for the Championship fixture on 13th April. Both of these teams are coming off the back of midweek wins, and Leeds will be desperate not to hand the initiative back to the Blades with a defeat to their Steel City rivals.

Sheffield Wednesday returned to winning ways in midweek, and they will arrive here full of confidence. Steve Bruce’s side were hoping to make a late play-off bid, but it looks a case of building for next season now. The Owls are extremely hard to beat, and they have lost just once on the road since December 15th. They’ve drawn four of their last five games on their travels, and they could frustrate the Whites throughout this tie. Leeds are odds-on, but Bruce’s men won’t be easily swept aside here, and the draw looks to be the value.

Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday Preview and Betting Odds

Leeds are gunning for promotion, and with five games left to play, they are back in the driving seat. There is a strange dynamic to this game – If Sheffield Wednesday win, they will hammer a huge nail in Leeds’ promotion coffin, but it will hand a significant advantage to their arch rivals – Sheffield United. The fans will want to see a decent performance from their side, but they’ll be wary of sending the Blades a step closer to the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Steve Bruce will want his side to put in a decent display, and the ease with which they netted three goals on Tuesday night suggests that they should be able to find the net in this game. They have kept four clean sheets in six on the road, but they’ve been against Stoke, Millwall, Ipswich and Bolton, all sides in the bottom half.

Wednesday are far from the finished article, and there is still work to do. Their back-line has the tendency to look a little shaky, and Leeds will be looking to exploit that.

On the flip side, after keeping three consecutive clean sheets, Leeds have now registered just a single shutout in four. That came against a Preston side, who were reduced to ten men early in the second half.

Games between the pair are always entertaining, and I’d expect both sides to register here. BTTS has landed in each of the last two meetings between the sides, and it’s the second of our Championship betting tips for Saturday evening.

Our betting tip for Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday is for Both Teams to Score? Yes, and the best odds are currently 19/20 with Unibet.

Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips

Patrick Bamford has looked fairly sharp over the last couple of games. He rattled the woodwork in Leeds’ recent defeat to Birmingham, and he returned with a quick-fire brace against Preston in midweek. Leeds’ injury problems have hit hard this season, and they could still be without Kemar Roofe, but Bamford is filling the void nicely.

He’s only made 20 appearances this campaign, but he’s notched nine goals, and will be hoping to get into double figures this weekend.

Five of his nine strikes have come at Elland Road, and he’ll be hoping to give the home fans something to cheer on Saturday teatime.

Leeds will create plenty of chances, and he should be the man to finish them off.

The third of our Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday predictions is Patrick Bamford to Score Anytime, and he is 7/5 to find the net in this fixture. He is best priced with Ladbrokes.

Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Prediction – Draw @ 3/1 with Bet Victor

Although they will be desperate to keep their city rivals in the division, Steve Bruce’s side will make themselves incredibly hard to beat. They were second best for long periods of the game against Stoke, but they still managed to leave the 365 with a point.

In midweek, Marco Matias looked deadly, and George Boyd looks to be benefitting from a run in the side. They are dangerous going forward, and with the choice of Gary Hooper, Steven Fletcher or Sam Winnall up front, they aren’t short of options, and can mix it up.

Pablo Hernandez came through the midweek game, and he will be running the show for Leeds, but the price is simply too short about the Whites. They are odds-on to take three points here, but this will be a stiff test for Bielsa’s men.

The draw looks fair in this game, with both sides extremely dangerous in midfield.
